Which is the Strongest Club League in the World?

Spain, Italy or England would be the obvious choices so which of the three?

I think England have undoubtedly the strongest CL teams. No one else has four clubs to match Arsenal, Man Utd, Liverpool and Chelsea but below that Spain are much stronger with teams like Villarreal, Athletico Madrid, Valencia (most of the time), Sevilla and so on being much better than Tottenham, Villa, Man City, Everton. As for relegation contenders they all suck and get beat every week so it's hard to say.

Theres been plenty of these topics in the past and ill say the same thing Ive always said, The Premiership has the most effective winning football while the Spanish league has the best players in terms of technique. At the end of the day football is about results so at the moment you'd have to say the premiership.

In Europe, the English, Spanish and Italian leagues are all ranked equally by UEFA, followed by Germany and France in the next tier down, the rest of Europe are in the third tier.

I don't know where the South American league ranks alongside the European leagues, but all of their top players seem to be over here earning BIG money, maybe they would be equivalent to the german or French leagues.

On the other hand, the top earner in football (Becks) resides in the North American League, definitely a third rate league though.

On current performance, the EPL lead the way, followed by Spain and then Italy. However, there is very little difference in the level of performance between each of these leagues, the games between the top sides in Europe are always close affairs and could go either way.

It's really hard to chose. Tactically the best is Italy. Technically the best is Spain but the Premiership is the fastest. EPL possibly edges it but it angers me when people completely dismiss other leagues as being inferior which is mainly down to ignorance.

Should be best league in Europe not world this poll.

How can many of us comment on leagues such as Brazil n Argentina etc when we dont see enough of it on our teles here in the Uk.

I watch it once a week on setanta the copa liberadoris "spelling wrong". and there football is far faster than it is in the english or spanish league.

Don't think that is a good reason because in the Champions play 4 english teams but in the league there are 20 teams. You can see that in the UEFA Cup the teams from La Liga have been better in the last seasons.

Its got to be England for me. Champions Legaue semi finals, 3 of the four teams were English and the only reason there couldnt of been all English Semi finals as two of them were drawn together the round before. I think the Premier League is the best league in the world because we have so much compared to La Liga. In Spain the top teams only know how to play one way, in the Premier League some of the big teams play very good attacking exciting football but know when they need to shange tactics as the quick passing movement is nt working. The top teams in Spain if they tried this it wouldnt work as the players cant play like this well some of them can but not all.

Lets say Man Utd have been playing very well but havent managed to get a goal and need to try something different as the other way isnt working even though its exciting to watch, they can change there style hit a few long balls over the top for Ronaldo, Rooney, Tevez etc to chase down and get physical. If Barcelona were in the same position they wouldnt be able to change much as there best players cant do this they have to play the same way and hopes it pays off, and quite often it doesnt which is shown by their league position.

Sorry mate but by your first paragraph i think you do not watch alot of spanish football. Of course spaish teams can defend. So daft to say that. Yeah fair enough they are known for going forward but they can defend.

But we are talking about the whole league not just the top teams. The teams who lie 10th downwards in La Liga could give teams like Wigan, Sunderland, Newcastle a good game and win. Levante who is bottom could beat derby, fulham, wigan, sunderland no problem.

Didnt say they couldnt defend i said they could only play one way, which is passing alot. I meant they couldnt switch it up and play long balls. As you never see players like Messi, Ronaldinho playing long balls its all neat and tidy close passing and off the ball movement.

I know Spanish teams can defend as Barcelona only conceded one goal over two legs against Manchester Utd and that was pretty unstoppable.

1 team you have mentioned there barcelona who cant switch to long balls. Have you seen the spanish games this season?
Athletico Madrid this season plays this way alot. Long balls then on the counter attack they go.

They are doing well in the league granted but i was mainly talking about the teams that were in the Champions League this season.

I do think the Premier League is better than La Liga but i think the only way of seeing whos better is when they play eachother.

I have thats why im posting in this thread.

La Liga

1 Real Madrid------------------34--75
2Villarreal---------------------34--65
3Barcelona--------------------34--61
4Atletico Madrid --------------34--55

Premier League

1Man Utd----------------------36--81
2Chelsea----------------------36--81
3Arsenal-----------------------36--77
4Liverpool---------------------36--70

Fair enough Real have been consistent in the league this season but where were they in the Champions League. I think these tables show that the premier league teams are much more consistent, which makes them better league teams and also they got further in the Champions League.

At the moment Atletico MAdrid have the same points as Manchester City but granted they have a few games in hand

So Ok you say Atletico Madrid can switch it up but its clearly not getting them enough points to be championship contenders.

I think thats shows that the top teams in Spain have dropped alot of points compared to the consistency of the top English sides. To be the best you have to be consistent.
