I think thats shows that the top teams in Spain have dropped alot of points compared to the consistency of the top English sides. To be the best you have to be consistent.

Maybe Spain have more strength in the bottom clubs but i think to have the best league its more about the top half teams.

Its close on who has the better league i'll give you that, but i also feel that the Premier League is a much more exciting league on the pitch.

Im talking about the excitement in the game. The Pace of the game and the unpredictability of games between clubs outside of the top 4 makes the premier league games more exciting for me.

The reason i think the bottom half teams are better in Spain, is they bring alot more young Spanish players through so they dont have to spend alot of money to survive like Roy Keane seemed to feel he needed to spend 9 million on a keeper.

I think the leagues are close so its all a matter of opinion on which brand of football you prefer.

Should be best league in Europe not world this poll.

How can many of us comment on leagues such as Brazil n Argentina etc when we dont see enough of it on our teles here in the Uk.

I watch it once a week on setanta the copa liberadoris "spelling wrong". and there football is far faster than it is in the english or spanish league.

No way. I watch quite a bit of Copa Libertadores da America and there's no way the overall speed compares to the EPL. They might have speed that can match in certain areas by the style they usually play (attacking), but the quality definitely isn't there with the top clubs in the EPL (Big 4). Anyone can run around a pitch quickly, but it's a matter of doing it with control. Take Boca Juniors and Sao Paulo (and maybe River Plate) out of the mix and you have a bunch of average clubs.

Two teams that play quick football; Pachuca (Mexico) and Saprissa (Costa Rica) to widen the range a little. If they came over and played against the Big 4 they would get man handled.

You have to remember, when a good/fast team is playing against a sub-par team, they are going to look that much better. Put a fast team like Arsenal or Man United up against amateurs and they'll look like they are running at warp speed (obviously exaggeration, but you know what I mean).

These 4 teams you mentioned are the teams who make your Tevezs and all these south americans who play in europe. Flamengo and Santos, Palmerias, Corinthians you have from brazil who i think could compete big time in the english premier.
Then you have Estudiantes La Plata , Independiente, San Lorenzo , Vélez Sarsfield these teams could also could compete from argentina in the english premier.

You mentioned run with control? Brazilians and Argentians alot are gifted in doing this. You watch every wedensday on setanta?

If you do you would see this happen.

Arsenal a fast team, You got walcott who i rate highley who is fast who can control a ball with speed. Eboue? haha he has pace but thats about it. Clichy he like walcott is good.

You mentioned north american teams with mexico and costa rica which i know you watched. Much south american football do you watch?

It's England as far as I'm concerned.

I think the answer is that it's between England and Spain.

Spain have a stronger overall league but the top teams are stronger in England.

Could it not be that the lower teams aren't actually stronger, but because the higher teams are weaker they take more points off of them, hence finish with higher totals?

Well I doubt when you have teams like Deportivo & Valencia near the bottom who were doing well in the Champions League a few years ago.

Perhaps. But Valencia are technically, if managed correctly, good enough to be in or around the top four of the Spanish league. Same with Spurs i guess.

I'm talking more about the teams who are actually as bad as their position suggests.

If you watch the football played by the bottom half clubs it is so much better than that played by Derby, Sunderland and so forth.

Like a dimwit i chose other, but in actuality i would pick England.

From what i can gather from my distant domain ,it seems that there ahs been so much talk in Britain about how great the spanish teams are that Brits have been brainwashed into actually believing it.I never understood why players such as Xavi,Iniesta, raul, etc etc etc are so highly touted.Real madrid were never the same after Makelele left not a lot has been said about that fact. It was only when they got more Iron in the shape of Diarra that they become dominant again. It was evident in the CL game between Man U and Barca that Man U where firm believers in the Hype and were very nervous playing a team that was actually more unified when they played Arsenal in the Final.Barca right now are a team in turmoil without questionable the best player in the world playing.

It's quite obvious if you look at the dominance of the British clubs in this years CL tournament that the British clubs are the new dons and those other teams should be worried.

Championship teams have dominated the FA cup this year yet I don't hear anyone calling it better than the Premiership.

Which is the Strongest Club League in the World?
