You should trigger his buy-out clause...

Even if we do he can choose not to sign for us so that changes nothing.

Valencia could probably afford to slip him a token £40million from the fee... and that would change a lot. Wink

Heres the link to Villa snubbing Spurs. Doesnt matter we'll have Eto'o or just somehow manage to keep Berbs. Very Happy

I really hope you can keep Berbs, because you haven't got a hope in hell of signing Eto'o.

O rly?

Yeh your probably right. But stop taking the fun out of the transfer window, its always nice to think about bringing in stars like Eto'o.

Well, it is fun, but there is a line. Eto'o is too unrealistic to be on the fun side of that line. He's more on the deluded side in my opinion.

He is a winner. He is arrogant. I hear he has a very large ego. He has apparently said he wants to leave Barca because he;s sick of the team not winning. He wants to win things, and be at the top. He isn't going to settle for anything less than the CL.

I think Ronaldinho is a far more realistic target. That keeps some of the fun in the transfer window surely?!

Yeh i know. Eto'o would be good but for the good of the team there are alot of players who would do better. He would think he is bigger than the club and no matter how good he is he wouldnt be. I think we need a tall striker with a great work ethic. Robbie seems to peform better when near a taller striker. When he was with Mido we almost got Champions League football. When he was with Defoe he didnt seem to play as well as he is at the moment.

How about Mario Gomez?

He's scoring about as many goals as Berbatov was scoring when he was in the Bundesliga. Gomez is taller as well i think.

His Stats are quite impressive but i dont watch German football so wouldnt know whether his peformances justify his stats, could be worth a shot if he wouldnt cost too mcuh as hes still only 22.

There's always Pandev, Kanoute, Diego Milito, Crouch and Zigic? Crouch and Zigic are huge!!

Bent is quite tall though isn't he, so what's the problem? What's he, 6 foot, 6'1?

I wouldn't be surprised to see you sign Fabiano. He is quite tall, but that's not why i think you might sign him. I could see him going to Tottenham because Sevilla have been sh*t since Ramos left, they might not get in the CL, he's been stunning this season, and Ramos should be able to lure him to the lane.

He's probably the best striker Tottenham could realistically sign to replace Berbatov.

Check those stats. Sound appetising?!

Bent is 5'11 and hes not the type you can change up the play and hit long balls to.

Id probably cry if we replaced Berbatov with Crouch.

Why?

Crouch would cost you about £8million perhaps, selling Berbatov for £25-£30million perhaps, meaning you'd practically have enough remaining to buy two £10m-rated players, like a centre-back to replace King and a first choice right-winger. Crouch would comfortably get you over 15 goals a season too, probably more, if you played him regularly.

Spurs shouldn't be lulled into the idea that they have to replace Berbatov, because you're depriving other areas. Spread the money around until you can afford luxury's such as the Bulgarian...

hey, Crouch isn't the worst on that list.

Still, Berbatov is light years ahead.

What about Fabiano though? Want him?

Im not saying he wouldnt get goals, i just cannot stand watching him play.

Fabiano would be good as i think he really liked playing under Ramos.

As i said, they don't need to replace like-for-like where Berbatov is concerned. In fact it would border on the stupid to try and spend a huge amount of money (as they would if trying to get someone of similar standard) in a position that is by far from their weakest.

If Bent had to partner Keane for a season it wouldn't be a disaster - if they left King as their main centre-back alongside Woodgate, and he predictably had a mass of injuries, meaning someone like Dawnson had to play regularly, then it potentially could be a disaster.

Yeah i know. Obviously the priority is on sorting the defence and midfield, but the remainder of their money can be spent on a replacement for Berbatov.

Oh and isn't Klasnic leaving on a bosmon, so he could be a cheap replacement.

Rumour

Taarabt hands in transfer request with Pompey ready to make an offer, but hed prefer to go back to french with a move to Bodreaux possible. We want to keep him so a loan move may be on the cards.

At least hes showing he wants to play football and not just pick up a paycheck.

Isn't he supposed to be a very good prospect, Taarabt?
