I think if van der Vaart left Hamburg it would coincide with Lampard doing the same with regards for Chelsea; assuming the Dutch midfielder were coming to Chelsea of course.

No I don't think he's going to Valencia. He wants to play Champions League and have a chance on winning it, that's why he wants to leave Hamburg. They are probably playing in the UEFA Cup next season.
He's only going to change to a top club, I'd say preferably in Spain.

I wouldn't be so sure with their financial problems... I think they'll be doing more selling than buying to be honest.

Yeah, he won;'t be going to Valencia now. He wanted to go there last summer, but Hamburg wouldn't sell him. It was a shame for Valencia, because after missing out on him they sign Manuel Fernandes who never did much there. Van der Vaart would've been amazing for them, and i think Valencia's season could've panned out very differently (assuming they didn't appoint Koeman).

Anyway, they've got financial problems, so they will have to sell some big names in the summer. There's not a chance that Van der Vaart will be there next season.
