has nothing to do for most of the game, its hard to keep your concentration, having said that, it was a good shot which I and many others thought was going wide, and the Leeds girl was first to react....no complaints, Arsenal dominated and their class shon through in the end....looking forward to the league game against Leeds for another stuffing....eh..lol Laughing

I don't think Leeds turned up today and got their tactics horribly wrong. I am sure they will play a lot better on the 14th.

At the top, click on the "the Club" tab (between Gold and Live), then the secondary links pop up and you'll see Arsenal Ladies.

Thanks Dylan (and shlj)

I normally go straight to "Ladies news" or one of the other drop-downs - never occurred to me to click on main box Sad

Just got done watching the replay. Great game (well for us Arsenal fans). Wink The ladies play great beautiful football. Reminds me a bit of the mens; great movement, attacking from both sides of the pitch and so forth. The difference is that the ladies get more shots on/towards goal while the mens are more efficient. Laughing

The match could have been over in the first 10 minutes if it wasn't for great goal keeping by the Leeds keeper. She was magnificent between the sticks. I recall at least 4 great chances in the first 10 minutes. One being cleared off the line by a Leeds defender, and one hitting the bar and bouncing out. Then in the 13th minute or so another ball gets cleared off the line from a corner. With all the near chances in front of goal from great positions, I was shocked we didn't get a couple goals in at the very least (could have easily been 5 or 6 goals and game set match by halftime).

I never once was worried that the ladies weren't going to score, I had a feeling that once one went in, the flood gates would open and a few would follow. And my feeling was right. 3 goals in a span of about 6 minutes or so.

The goal by Leeds was of no fault of the defense or the keeper. It was just great play, and I could have swore the original shot was going wide and all the sudden it bangs off the bar and right to the head of an oncoming Leeds player.

Well done ladies. This is the first Arsenal ladies match I've watched (been keeping track of them all year though), and I was very impressed with their play and definitely entertained.

After watching the US ladies play against Australia the other day, would I be wrong to say that the Arsenal Ladies could beat the US ladies? Wink I think Arsenal would cause havoc on the backline of the US ladies with Scurry back there. Razz

Leeds keeper Carly Telford won the player of the match award - not surprising when at one stage, with still a few minutes to go, Arsenal had managed 40 shots Shocked

good win it was....Leeds had a game plan that worked for 45 minutes, then the fllodgates opened, and it was all over even at 3-1......THe Arsenal Ladies were a much better team and but for their goalie, it would have been all over for Leeds in the first half... Laughing Cool

Anyways...was reading the paper Rolling Eyes and it was saying Vic Akers is being replaced. True?

There's not been any mention of it on Arsenal.com

Still no news, they would have had the perfect moment to announce it ater the final Question

Yes Carly was exceptional and our composure in front of the goal was a bit poo, cannot let that happen against big teams in big games

to be fair

Telford made a string on goal bound saves in the first half that other goalies would not have and it would have been game over......players and fans alike can get frustrated by that.....but hey, 4-1 is 4-1..

Leed's keeper was great, made a bunch of great saves. There was also about 3 balls that were cleared off the line, and about another 3 that went off the woodwork.

I know its picky

Shots = everything, if it goes flying over the bar, goes flying wide, trickles past the face of goal and so forth, anything in the vicinity/going towards goal

Shots on goal = everything that ends up in the back of the net or the keeper stops, and also if it's going towards goal but gets deflected away I believe (don't quote me on the last part).
