I believe Duncan Ferguson went to prison for head butting an opponent during a game. I notice the police don't intend pressing charges against Nani. |

why didnt he mention his flop on the floor? seems remarkably like a club-enforced apology to get the fans 'onside' |

I believe he didn't want to embarass Neill any further by bringing up Neills's flop on the floor......or his own..... |

Well maybe if Barton was a decent player, no one would have to focus on his negatives. <g> |

the difference is that when we beat you before we were playing some decent football and had a bit of confidence and a few decent players on the pitch whereas this time we have played on the back of 2 wins in the last 10 games and many more players injured and playing dreadful football which made us very lucky to even beat derby. a defeat was inevitable. anybody could see that! our previous win counted for nothing and was never going to. what on earth are you talking about? i really struggle to understand you. "let's just separate the on pitch and off pitch incidents.. professional and fair play on pitch mean you don't do anything related to actions that could possibly lead to provoke others to attack you under no circumstances.. and then get others sent off as a result.. that's it.." everything i mentioned was on the pitch incidents..? did nani not provoke an attack from Arsenal players in their match before? does ronaldo not provoke anger from his diving, arrogance etc? fair play does not exist anymore, least of all at Old Trafford so please dont preach to me about professionalism and fair play. did Neill hit Nani or be violent towards him? nani took the bait because he is a silly little mug. he made a fool of himself. |

Yes, Jens is a scum in his own right as well for some of the antics he does. And I'm ashamed for it, and I call him out on it as well. But he's also done a lot of great things (sportsmanship wise), which Nani has yet to do. |

This is a complete joke. You've obviously never been to any sporting event of any kind. You've obviously never played sports of any kind. You seem to think everyone on the pitch should be little angels prancing around loving each other. I'd hate to see you actually go to a United game or any game for that matter, you'd probably scared shitless and think you were in hell with all the provoking, name calling, swearing, and so forth that goes on. Rooney, Nani, Ronaldo all provoke their opponents. Do you remember in the World Cup when Ronaldo got Rooney sent off? hummm, ironic isn't it? Lets see, Materazzi provokes, hell he provoked one of the greats of football on the biggest stage. Beckham was provoked twice playing for England, and got a red card and sent off. If you ever played sports or actually been to a sporting event, you would realise that it's not a bunch of angels playing the game. It's grown men (and women) fighting to win. Trash talking happens, provoking the opponent happens. It's all part of the game (every game whether it's football, baseball, or ping pong). You intimidate your opponent to get the upper hand in the 'battle'. Your little utopia game will never happen. And United are just as bad as the rest of them. |

Regardless of Nani's weak headbutt, the intent to headbutt was there by Nani. And that deserves a red card. There is no way Neil deserved a red, a yellow maybe, but no way a red should be issued. If this was the case, Ronaldo and Rooney would have gotten plenty of red cards this year for various offenses. You say you don't like cheating in football (I don't either), but Rooney cheats, Ronaldo cheats. What do you think of them when they dive? Diving in essence is cheating right? Like I've said previously. A headbutt is a headbutt regardless of how much damage or not it causes. Yes Neil over exaggerated it, but what player doesn't when they are hit? Ronaldo over exaggerates getting fouled and makes it look worse than it really was. Rooney does the same. No one cares about it, because they got fouled. Nani on the other hand, committed the 'infraction' and then fell to the ground in agonizing pain. It was embarrassing, even Van Der Sar thought it was embarrassing as he went over to Nani and told him to get up and tried to pull him up while Nani in excruciating pain continued to wince on the ground. That makes it worse. |

You are talking absolute drivel. Ronaldo did not get Rooney sent off. Rooney did that all by himself for stamping on Carvaliho. You are only bitter about Nani because he made a fool of Arsenal players in the FA Cup game at Old Trafford. And how did the cheating Arsenal players react? By trying to kick lumps out of Nani. By the way...it wasn't VDS who tried to make Nani get up it was the West Ham goalkeeper. Pity he didn't do the same thing with Neill. |

Bitter about what? It amazes me how people go back to a previous matchup and say someone is bitter. I could care less if Nani made Hoyte of all people look like crap. Nani had a great game that day, Arsenal didn't. It happens, big deal. Yes the Arsenal players lost it a bit and kicked Nani a couple times in the back of the leg (for showboating), and that's poor and I was sad to see it, but it happened and nothing escalated from it. It's done and over with, nothing to dwell upon. How did United react when they lost to Chelsea? Lets see, Ferdinand looses his bearings and goes crazy with anger and kicks the advertising wall and while at it, he kicks a female Chelsea steward. You're so biased towards United it's unbelievable thinking they are all little angels. Yes I'm a diehard Arsenal fan, but I'll admit it when one of our players was in the wrong and be ashamed of it. How you're not ashamed by the actions of Nani playacting and falling to the ground in apparent pain baffles me. And to blame it on Neil's over exaggeration to give Nani justification in his playacting is appalling. |

You are paranoid my son. Firstly, I have already stated on this thread that Nani was wrong and deserved his punishment. Secondly, Arsenal are historically one of the worst offending teams when it comes to over-reacting in football games, and I believe they, as a club, have been brought to book on several occasions by the FA. Thirdly, your reaction and willingness to jump on the 'slag Nani' bandwagon with your over-emotional use of words like 'scum' clearly reveals your bitter feelings towards this talented player. Fourthly, I am not responsible for Nani's actions, whether they are on or off the field of play, therefore I have nothing to be ashamed of, since such events are beyond my control and influence. Finally, this is a football forum, it is about football opinion which is extremely subjective, there is no right or wrong, black or white, the truth usually lays somewhere in between the opinions presented on here, and is a nice shade of grey. I merely put the opposing view in defence of Nani, there are always two sides to debate. |
