No. Attacking play and goals should be rewarded.

No, there shouldn't be.
If anything it would come down to head to head results, in which case Manchester United still win the title. Hell, let's scrap goal difference in the Champions League aswell while we're at it. So you can win 7-0 in one leg and then lose 1-0 in the return and it's seen as equal... If United win the title then it's because they deserve to, they've played better football than Chelsea over the season, beaten teams more convincingly and performed better. That's all there is to it. |

Im happy that it is decided by goal difference. The goal difference rule makes it more exciting. It means when a team takes a lead they will not just be happy just to sit back and take the win as it is. Unlike Chelsea, when Man United take the lead they push on and try to score as many as they can. This should be rewarded and therefore this is a valid way of splitting the teams at the top.

Exactly, they won the head-to-head against Chelsea so they should win. Although Chelsea are more entertaining!! |

You must have been watching some other team play. The reason Abromavitch isn't happy and intends to dis-assemble the current Chelsea squad is precisely because HE doesn't like their UN-entertaining style of play. He is bored with watching them. Also, United's far superior goal difference and attacking style of play tells its own story. |

Probably why he hasn't turned up to a game since about February too lol
Agree with what everyone is saying,it should remain as it is therefore if Chelsea and Man Utd both win then Man Utd deserve to win the title,it's always been this way and should remain the same forever Chelsea only have themselves to blame for playing cagey and defensive football And yes before someone comes back with a witty comment,i agree Liverpool are cagey and defensive too |

La Liga play with head-to-head results which in my opinion is better than the goal difference as it's the same as Champions League, but ya never know.

No the league should be won over the full season, not dependant on two results. Goal difference gives a fairer result at the end of the season..
And a Co-Champion - never. It'd be a terrible idea, both teams would feel like they'd lost it and it just wouldnt work. They do it in South African rugby, I was watching the final a couple of years ago and it was one of the best matches Ive ever seen, problem being that it ended 28-28 at the end of extra time so they shared the cup. It just totally took away from the game and didnt work at all. |

Absolutely not. As everyone was saying, they play a whole season and to award co-champions defeats the whole purpose of teams competing at their best. Goal differential is an important tie-breaker and is the fairest gauge of how to pick one team as champions over the other. To share the championship won't be the same because it's like you won, but not really. The prestige and pride of winning and being the best isn't there and allowing that would completely suck the life out of the sport. Terrible idea.

the first post i claim to be good.. are we going to take turns displaying it at Old Trafford and stamford bridge if we have same points?.. even the cl matches have away goals rule.. so there's no reason to have double winners.. and there's just no way we'd like to share the cup if we win it.. |

no it is a terrible idea ......it should remain exactly the same . The points system was changed so a team winning was awarded 3 pts instead of 2 ...before a team who drew , were not much better off than a team who won . Now a team winning 3 matches would be 6 pts ahead of a team who only drew the 3 matches .
If a team is level on points then goal difference is the best way of deciding who wins the title ....and then goals scored , possibly the most famous title finish in history .. 1989 Arsenal v Liverpool the title was only decided by the fact Arsenal had scored more goals .....both teams were level on pts and goal difference was the same .. beacause we had scored 5 or 6 more goals we were Champions .. First and forwmost it is about points though ....whoever wins the title it will mean thy will have deserved it based on the pts .....goals scored and how many they have conceded ...ie goal difference . It would be a travesty if for example Man Utd and Chelsea both won at the weekend and had to play a decider which Chelsea then won 1-0 with a controversial penalty ....Man Utd having scored almost 20 more goals than Chelsea during the season but losing out like that .....would be a disaster . |
