Tottenham have tabled a bid to take Anton Ferdinand to White Hart Lane.
Last summer, Spurs made an approach under former boss, Martin Jol, but the Hammers rejected the US$8 million offer and said that the defender was not for sale.
This time round, Juande Ramos is determined to get his man and has put in a higher bid of US$12 million to tempt their London neighbours into selling their prized possession.
Ramos has already started rebuilding for next season with talented Croatian midfielder, Luka Modric already signed up and now he wants to concentrate on shoring up his leaky defence.
Younes Kaboul who was touted as the next big thing has been a flop in his first season and Michael Dawson is said to be on his way out. This leaves Ramos with only Jonathan Woodgate and Ledley King as his only options.
With King’s well documented injury status hanging over him, Ferdinand will be a good backup for the London club.
The 23-year-old has long been expected to follow in his brother Rio Ferdinand’s footsteps and has shown in the past two seasons how similar he is to his sibling.
Anton is said to be keen on the move as he is struggling to get into the West Ham lineup with the emergence of 19-year-old James Tomkins.
If the Hammers refuse the offer, Ramos might turn his attention to another Hammers’ defender, Mathew Upson.

anybody who has watched both of them grow as footballers can see the huge gaps between the two
errr he is injured, and has been for a while. he is almost back to fitness and is expected to play against Villa at the weekend
right, so if we refuse an offer for Ferdinand we are then going to accept an offer for a player we have only just bought who is a much better defender than ferdinand and is potential captain material? yeah good one.

i wouldnt shed a tear if they did sell ferdinand but i would be very suprised if this ever happens for two reasons...
