I might be going into Manchester city centre to watch this on the big screens, there should be a good atmosphere around the city. Apparently there will be around 100, 000 Rangers fans descending on Manchester so it will hectic.

As for the game Ive been impressed with Zenit in the last eight months or so, they've got some good players and Dick Advocat has done an amazing job with them. Theoreticly Zenit are a Champions League side after winning the Russian league so this will be a tough game for Rangers and i'm tipping Zenit for the win. I do want Rangers to win though because they've been my favourite Scottish team since the early 90's when they had an influx of English players that I really liked... Terry Butcher, Chris Woods, Trevor Steven etc.

But will Rangers show their resilience once again as they have done in this competition so many times this season?

I voted Zenith Laughing

Worthy winners. Looked far superior 1st half and then eventually in the second. Arshavan quality for both goals with Anuykov doing well down right.
Rangers looked like getting that equaliser towards end. Good year for them!

Rangers plays too much defensive, all the match is on the defense shoulders, after one hour they are tired. I don't understand this tactic, they were able to win. By the way it's good season for the Rangers.

Congrats Zenith ! it's a good season too, first european cup and they play without their best goalscorer. Smile

ok ....no problem with any post here but as the result is now known ....this thread is a bit redundant . The actual match can be discussed in the anti-football topic that i moved from General Football to this section .

I saw the replay as I couldn't watch the match Live at midnight...

Zenit fully deserved the victory and even the scoreline I'd say. They completely dominated the first half and even though Rangers did have some half chances, Zenit played well in the second half too. I also thought that Arshavin played well and he caused a lot of problems to the Rangers' defence. His assist for the first goal was just fantastic. It was an absolute peach of a pass.

I'd like to know if there's any transfer speculation surrounding him??? I think a lot of temas will be interested in him...

Luckily I didn't have the funds to go, I was going to take my son aswell.

I was disappointed with Rangers, I can only remember them having one real chance. Even when Zenit scored Rangers didn't attack and only really tried in the last few minutes. Zenit are worthy winners.

I think the two Steven from Everton have played for Rangers but i don't remenber the years. Trevor Steven played also for Marseille.

Is it Mac Coist who assist the coach ?

Yeah Lenny, Ally Mccoist.

The two players you're talking about are Trevor Steven and Garry Stevens, That would have been the late 80's and early 90's I think. Both played for Everton aswell.
