FC Twente will face either Ajax or Heerenveen for a place in the UEFA Champions League after cruising to an 8-1 aggregate success in their play-off against NAC Breda.

After today FC Utrecht and Roda JC are eliminated from the play-offs so their season is finished. NEC and FC Groningen will play against each other in the second round of the uefa cup play-offs. The winner of this match will face NAC Breda or SC Heerenveen/Ajax to fight for a place in the uefa cup.

In the promotion/relegation play-off De Graafschap was the only one that qualified for the final round after 2 matches. The other 3 participants of the final round will be decided by a third match that will be played on wednesday 7 May.

Tomorrow Ajax will defend their 2-1 advantage over Heerenveen to secure a place in the final for a Champions League ticket.

Ajax won 3-1 at home today against SC Heerenveen to secure a place in the play-off final for the Champions League. They will now face FC Twente. SC Heerenveen will play against NAC Breda for an UEFA Cup ticket. The loser of this match will have a last chance to reach UEFA Cup by playing against either NEC or FC Groningen.

So, Ajax and FC Twente are at least sure of a UEFA Cup place and still have a chance to qualify for CL. SC Heerenveen and NAC Breda are sure of a intertoto cup place but also can qualify for UEFA Cup.

After tonight VVV Venlo is relegated after a 2-0 defeat against ADO Den Haag in their third match in the second round of the play-off. RKC Waalwijk and FC Zwolle also qualified for the last round of play-off matches.

The winners of RKC-ADO and Zwolle-De Graafschap will play in the Eredivisie next season.

SC Heerenveen and NEC got excellent results tonight for sundays returns.

Heerenveen qualified for the UEFA Cup after a 2-2 draw in Breda against NAC. NAC will now play in the third round against NEC. The winner of that match will qualify for the UEFA Cup, the loser goes to the Intertoto Cup.
