Chelsea player of the year award,a travesty!

Joe Cole won the player of the season this year and i for one cannot believe it.
The reason why i don't think Cole should have won it is because of the fact that he has not performed in the biggest games for Chelsea,where others have consistently the whole season.
decisions like these are why i find it hard to support this team.
Imo that award could have gone to essien,makelele or carvalho who have been consistent the entire season.You don't reward the player for not scoring in big matches ,but you must recognize the defense in being able to stop the other team from scoring.
J.Cole has been immensely ineffective in big games ,but received massive accolades for his performances against the likes of Derby. This award is a complete travesty but knowing how classy the likes of Carvalho,essien and makelele are you probably won't hear any complaints from them.

Strange one.

It's Carvalho for me. And Essien has been superb and if it weren't for the ACN he'd have made a bigger impact.

Very much agree with you there Specnur although Essien hasn't been as influential this season as he was last. Carvalho is the outstanding player at Chelsea for me this season, he has been the most consistent performer.

Anyway best Chelsea player this season for me would be Carvalho

Yeah, Carvalho would get it from me as well.

I think since he joined Chelsea, he has been their best player. Overall in the last 4 years, no Chelsea player has been as good in my opinion. I think he's the best centre back in the league.

I wouldn't correct that to no DEFENDER has been as good.
Try and imagine Chelsea without Drogba last season! I shudder to think.He was basically robbed of the leagues best player award, due to the fact that the majority of people can't quite separate personality from performance when judging the man.

I thought Drogba should've won World Player of the Year last season. That's how good i thought he was overall. But that was lasts season. He hasn't played that much this season, and in his first season he wasn't great. That's why Carvalho has been the best over the last FOUR seasons.

yeah im a fan of joe cole's but he didnt deserve this award.i think ballack was great but missed the first few months maybe thats why he didnt get it.essien should of got it.never has a bad game.great player.
