Viduka getting injured could temp Keegan into splashing out on Crouch.

But if anyone else had an international record and Champions League record like his, and were also top scorer for Liverpool last season despite being 3rd choice, you can bet your ass they would cost a lot more than him if they were his age.

True. I really like him and depending on how much keegan gets to spend i think there is a good chance. I dont think any other prem side will spend 15milllion on him other then Newcastle.

Ah, a bidding war. That would be nice.

It's probably going to be between Portsmouth and Newcastle for Crouch's destination, but i can't see the former spending too much.

Newcastle UNITED PLAN £3M ANFIELD RAID

Kevin Keegan will look to bolster his back four during the summer transfer window, and he hopes to lure left fullback John Arne Riise from Liverpool in a £3million transfer.

“He is still our player at the moment and he knows if we receive a good offer - good for him and the club - it could be,” said Reds boss Rafael Benitez. “But he is a fantastic professional.”

Magpies fans, do you think Riise would be a good signing?

I don't think signing Johnson would be good move. He isn't what Newcastle need, unless he's going to warm the bench, and be Owen's replacement for when he gets injured. Waste of money though.

I would be happy with that. He hasnt had the best of seasons but he has loads of experience and has been solid for a few years. We need solid defenders, plus we can play left wing at a push.

I know, i'd be very pleased with his addition. The response with Liverpool fans have been mixed but i think he'd be good if it did happen.

What's he been like under Keegan? I haven't noticed him play much?

Why would Johnson go to a smaller team like Newcastle when he already gets a game at Everton? Confused

why would we want him anyways?
we are not much of a smaller team, as a club we are big. I am past listening to your comments on Newcastle anyway G_Man. I could talk all day about how [beep!] scottish football is and how [beep!] your team is, but i have better things to do. dont you?

Your going off topic.
Talk about scottish football if you like, in the scottish section though. Or Rangers in the Uefa cup final in the uefa cup section.

Ok so your a big club doing not so good. Happy?

Johnson would not go to Newcastle because he would not go to a not so good team compared to the team he is at who play european football.

I'd be a bit disappointed to sign Milner. I think the bar should be higher. Bentley is much better.
