Man City have had a man sent off. Not sure how this will affect a European place but it will certainly make it interesting...

Love the text in to the BBC commentary

With the table Becks posted, at 36 games, Fulham are the main contenders to City.

City got a red card and yellow, whilst Fulham got neither today.

Be interesting to see who turns out on top.

Also, the FA are deciding whether to take the English Fair Play League from the end of April to decide who takes the place or from the end of the season. Bizarre as hell, but it's because UEFA decided at the end of April that England were the winners of the Fair Play League.

Hopefully it's City. Fulham aren't good enough or even close.

It's official. Manchester City will play in Europe next year. They have fended off a tough challenge from Fulham. Overall, City finished 6th in the fair play league; but most importantly, the highest ranking among clubs that haven't already secured a European spot.

Manchester City will enter the competition at the first qualifying round stage in July. Ironically, City have already confirmed they will not be able to host the first qualifying round tie at Eastlands as the pitch is due to be relaid once a Bon Jovi concert has taken place in June.

The first qualifying round draw will be held on 30 June. They have been placed in the Northern section and will face opposition from Estonia, Iceland, the Faroe Islands, Lithuania or Luxembourg, plus opposition closer to home in the form of two Northern Irish representatives Glentoran and Cliftonville, two from the Republic in Cork City and St Patrick's Athletic, as well as Bangor from Wales.

Does this mean Eriksson could keep his job now? Laughing This is a pretty bad way to determine another spot for Europe though. What if Derby were up there in the 'fair play' standings. That would be a disaster.

well it happened with ipswich the year they went down

England handed extra UEFA Cup place
