I have always believed ,without proof, that the likes of Real Madrid and barcelona have consistently and purposely put out false interest in the the stars of their European rivals in an effort to unsettle the player and the team. That thought was confirmed by a Spanish journalist over the past few days during an interview with Sky.He basically said that the Spanish clubs have media affiliates that put out stories for this purpose alone.
Now in my opinion that is one of the most classless and desperate strategies i have ever heard of and should be investigated by fifa imo.
You thoughts please.

Barça and Madrid are different clubs than the rest of the biggest european clubs because don't have rich owners. Then the relationship between the presidents and the journalists is close because when they are candidates and want to win the elections need the medias to help them and viceversa if this candidate wins the elections. Then when the football team isn't playing well and is losing the medias that support the team write about rumours and don't write about the team to help the president. But sometimes I write rumours about english and italian clubs too still that the situation isn't the same, then I don't think that it's so bad.

You think they are the only ones that do that?

Sir Alex Ferguson practically wrote the book on it.

Not whe the sole purpose of it is to unsettle the team and the player with no intention f really buying the player. It is classless and needs to be investigated by fifa.I do believe the Italian Giants may take part in this
scum strategy.Sir alex seemed to be the type that sees a player that is hot and to stop his rivals buying the chap he puts his oar in.Not as classless as those scum in Spain ,but just as wrong.Sir alex just wants all the toys so no one else can play.

Sure it's classless, but it's business.

just as 'scummy' is the way Liverpool snared Benayoun and are now doing the same with Barry. the 'big clubs' can do as they please.
