The French coach has decided to take a 29 men squand and then remove 6 poor guys to get to 23.
It is a proven formula, Aimé Jacquet did the same thing back in 98 and from those who were ejected from the team only one ever recovered from it over the years.

How does Saha get in the team when he never plays for his club?

Just reminded me how strong the French squad actually is. If they can perform as a team then they'll have a great chance of winning it again.

One big surprise Gomis Shocked Trezeguet not taken because he is not useful is not surprising actually considering the manager poor opinion of him.

Where's Wenger's "best left-back in the world" Clichy?

Domenech has a general policy of not changing much his squad in general if he is happy.
He considers Abidal and Evra are having a good season and should not be displaced.
Same thing happened in the goalie area where Coupet Landreau and Frey are safe despite Mandanda's brilliant season.

Leaving out Sagna is a joke though.

Basically he hasn't got the balls to drop the regulars.

He sounds English.

How can he be happy ? 2 lost matchs against Scotland and a lost friendly match against Spain.

I'm sad that David Trezeguet is not in the list, he was in the team 1998 and 2000, that's how we say thanks to him ? he had scored 20 goals this season but it's not enough for Domenech. If Trezeguet doesn't score for France it's because he had not the balls, our game is slow and poor.

In the Jacquet system there were players like Dugarry, Trezeguet, Blanc, Desailly and Zidane who are good in the air, they can make heads. Even that, a head on a corner, we're are unable to do it now.

I can be wrong but i don't think we will go far. Confused

Domenech thinks Trezeguet is no longer a valid option tactically wise.
I don't agree with it but I understand why he does it. Our game will be based on a solid defence and trying to score on quick attacks only.

It will not work because i'm sure that most of the teams will play defensive in this Euro. In 2006 everybody thought that France was not good, and it's true that the start was poor, so we were a surprise. In the Euro all the teams will be careful with us, and play defensive game, so there will be no quick attacks.

Both Sagna and Clichy not in the team??? I thought atleast Sagna would be in the team if not Clichy as they already got Evra and Abidal(Although IMO Clihcy is better than Abidal). But Sagna??? What more he has to do to get in the squad??? Confused

Sagna is by far their best RB, that's the stupid thing here.

Clichy I would sort of agree with - Evra and Abidal are strong Defenders and much more experienced. I don't mind Clichy being left out this time, he'll be included in the future. But Sagna has been immense and he's proven his ability at all levels. Sagnol is weaker.
