yeah i wouldnt have said it was straightforward. infact i'd have said the game was completely even, not much in it at all. apart from the goal obviously Confused

oh...i'd also like to add about MOTM. Kanu got it. i know they almost always give it to the goal scorer if the match ends 1-0, but i really dont think he deserved it. what does everyone think?

Pompey do that well...score a goal, then sit back and keep the clean sheet.

Laughing All harmless fun in my opinion

I guess, but you cant say it was straightforward. Cardiff could have scored a few times. They had as many chances as Pompey did. Pompey just took one of theres.

I would have gave MOTM to Diarra or one of the centre backs

I'd have to agree with you there J-axe, although Steely was an ignorant prat who caused a lot of contoversy at times, for instance the whole Jock racist thing he had going on with Graham, he was a solid poster who always had something to say in his posts rather just a sweeping statment loosely related to the topic at hand. The forum will definately be a poorer place without him around as he made a genuine effort to talk about football in real depth, which most members dont, me included sometimes aswell im afraid Sad.

And you think that because in your opinion he was a "solid" poster that is good enough reason to let his poison continue. I personally stopped acknowledging his posts as a way of cleansing myself of that sort of negativity.I'm surprised that he wasn't banned a long time ago actually.A site is only as good as it's posters, and anyone just happening onto this site and are confronted by some of that guy's posts would be put off.
Life's too short for that type of garbage. This forum is a better place without him in my eyes.

If youve watched the Pompey defence for most the season, you can say they dealt with that quite easily.
Like they normally do. Not a case of bad attacking, but good defending.

Quality of the teams was the difference.

Not as painful as seeing you escaping another religation by the skin of your teeth. But then there is always next season for you to go down while Pompey (Hampshires Premier Team) take Europe by storm.

Laughing Laughing

You really believe that? 11th isnt exactly by the skin of our teeth, and Ramos doesnt really seem like the kind of bloke to get us relegated no? hahahhaa

I agree there Rach, there were certainly others more worthy.

He shouldn't have got it for his goal celebration alone.

And then when he picked up the cup and swayed it side to side, I just cringed Laughing

I think ESPN-Star Sports gave the man of the Match to Diarra(He only got 0.5% of the votes in the Nokia-MOTM contest while Kanu got 79%. But still the ESPN-Star panel gave MOTM to Diarra)).

I also thought he deserved to be the MOTM as played well throughout the match...

Diarra should have got it, he was outstanding, and miles better than Old Canoe up front.

Really really want us to sign Diarra this summer. I think he will be Frances next Makalele.

glad people agree! i also think Diarra should have got MOTM. he did so much more than Kanu. all Kanu really did was score that one goal and miss an absolute sitter. and sparky, you're so right about his celebration Shocked he looked like he couldnt decide what to do, what a turnip!
