what was it you called me.... foul mouthed? hmmm it seems your hypocrisy continues unashamedly.

Quote:

"What does dirge mean? we found 1 entry for the meaning of dirge

Dirge \Dirge\, n. [Contraction of Lat. dirige, direct thou (imperative of dirigere), the first word of a funeral hymn (Lat. transl. of Psalm v. Cool beginning, ``Dirige, Domine, in conspectu tuo vitam meam.'' See Direct, a., and cf. Dirige.]

A piece of music of a mournful character, to accompany funeral rites; a funeral hymn."

That sounds right to me Wink

does it? well your language appears inbred to me. is that any more or less offensive? i think not

It's quite funny that Steely's reply was posted just one minute after O Dogg got a reply from him after sending him a PM about a complaint Very Happy

is it? lets look at this 'claim' of yours.... my first post was 18/5 at 8.31pm. my reply to O Dogg was at 9.33pm. i kindly suggest you take your time to think about what you say and maybe you wouldnt have found that so 'funny'. either that or you have some whacked up conspiracy theory you would like to share? i thought at your age time would be going slower. it appears the hours seem like minutes to you. thats funny.

This is probably my last post on here, as I've resigned as admin, and am surprised that no-one has managed to delete me yet.

why would they delete you? do you genuinely think anybody cares? as ever you have made a complete spectacle of yourself. just as you did with the Agent Smith issue. did i behave like this when i had time away from the forum and contemplated quitting? no, i said my piece in the mod section and walked away. no mention even in the comings/goings thread. you are attention seeking and painting yourself up as some kind of wounded martyr, doing your bit for the forum's integrity. you are a hypocrite beyond belief and extremely childish. i even suggested you do this via PM, man to man and in private. you choose to continue this in full view of everyone so that you can appear like you are doing something. you are doing nothing but showing yourself up. you are 60-odd years old for crying out loud. what an embarrassment. you 'resigned' as a mod, big deal. so did i. perhaps i should have announced that also? you are 'resigning' from the forum. great, lets hugely over react and keep that chip sitting proudly on your shoulder. we both know what this is really about and the fact you chose to carry this on after it had been left in the mod section speaks volumes for your character and you as a person. i hope you find forum nirvana elsewhere and can reflect on your actions. im sure the Lounge will sorely miss you. also your blackmail attempts appear to have bitten you in the arse. a further display of your childish attitude with your 'him or me' threat. what kind of a man are you?

I just want to say to the English people here, who won't probably see my leaving post, that the comment I made about the English national anthem was mainly about the tune - it seems to fit the quote I posted above.
Despite the fact I'm an atheist and a republican, I respect English people's rights to their anthem (although I notice England players like Gary Neville never join in the singing).

in your opinion. my take on your language appears to fit the description i gave it. you respect nothing about england, the anthem or the traditions of England. thats been made abundantly clear over the past few months. i am not the only one to pick up on it. even the mild-mannered sparkyjinx has felt the need to pul you up on it on several occasions. quite often your digs at the english, the monarchy or anything else are countered by myself highlighting your ignorance and i am met by silence because you know you have no point other than that chip on your shoulder. whats Gary Neville got to do with it?

I do think that England should have "Land of Hope and Glory", "Jerusalem" or "Rule Britannia" though - far more suitable - singable and pleasant.

did you dig up the national anthem thread for my suggestions to post those? again, thats your opinion. i have no issue with that, i have issue with the term you used on top of the countless other england bashing crap. i took issue with that just like you took issue with my description of your language. spot the similarities? my toys remain fimrly 'in pram' though.

As far as my supposed digs at English people are concerned, I absolutely do not disrespect English people in general.
As I said elsewhere, I travelled 600 miles to support the England women's team - hardly disrespectful you might say?

thats complete nonsense. there have been countless disrespectful posts made about england and the monarchy. they are english people. i find your posts towards them offensive. particularly your racist comments towards them. again, im not the only person to take issue with this.

i have travelled to wales three times. does that make me unable to be disrespectful to the welsh? thats the equivalent of saying 'im not homophobic, ive got a George Michael album'.

Politically, I don't like my small country being governed by the whims of the electorate - if the Tories win the next election, they will be making decisions about us in Wales although we're guaranteed to have very few Tory MPs again in our country.

thats the beauty of the little thing we know as being 'democracy'. again, your ignorance towards the beneifts your nation recieve as a direct result of the english is astounding. id love you to be independant. it would be hilarious.

Anyway - I'm off Wink

bye

Good. For a minute there it seemed this thread was an English vs Welsh thread and I wanted to tak about the cup final between Pompey of England and Caaaaaadif of Wales.

Its been a good year for the FA cup. Bringing all that magic back. Any team can get there now...even get into Europe, which is a great incentive.
Pompey have a ready made team to take on Europe which will only get better through one or two signings.

do you reckon its likely to be like this again in the years to come though?

i mean in reality Portsmouth were lucky to go through against Man United and probably didnt deserve to beat them, not that i would begrudge them this fantastic achievement.

is it likely to inspire other teams to push on and go for the cup a bit more or merely encourage the big boys to kick back into gear for an end of season finale?

If you look at Portsmouth vs Cardiff/vs. Man Utd/vs Chelsea/vs Accrington Stanley, they do well and most times win by the same score. 1-0/2-1 etc. Theyre not the type of team to hammer the weaker teams and just scrape it against the better teams, they just win the same way every time.
They dont say "Oh we are better than 80% of teams in this division, so beat them all by 3-0 every time because we are better" but more like "We are playing x/y team, so lets just concentrate on how to beat them!"

Or as the Arsenal lot used to say... 1-0 to the Pompey! Wink

it would be great if there were more of these `shock` finals . The truth is though next year will probably revert back to the usual top teams ....Man Utd , Chelsea , Arsenal , Liverpool fighting it out for a place at Wembley .

What this season has shown i think that the big boys can no longer underestimate the smaller teams or expect to go through .....they will have to play well to get through . What Barnsley did to Liverpool and Chelsea ..well deserved victories ....may show other small clubs that dreams can come true ....no one is unbeatable ..

So who would have predicted the next Charity Shield match to be between Man Utd and Portsmouth .. Smile

it seems unlikely that any club from outside will ever win the FA Cup again what with such a gap between premiership and championship.

Sir Trevor Brooking's instinctive diving header has put him in FA Cup folklore

Perhaps its a case that the fans of the big boys almost take a day out at a final for granted?

on the contrary i have heard of instances of Cardiff fans spitting, throwing beer at, and urinating over the statue of Bobby Moore at Wembley to name but a few instances of them 'making the most of the day'.

it wasnt as widespread as it were in the Barnsley game but it still happened, perhaps the novelty never wore off?

this element of the cardiff support needs eliminating at all costs. each time i have encountered a cardiff fan they always seem to be scum of the highest order. i think its time the decent fans stuck their neck out and didnt allow these dregs of society to use the name of their club to peddel their thuggish ways. in my time going to football i would put Cardiff down in the gutter with Millwall going on the sights i have seen. it will take a lot for them to change their ways... thats if they even want to.

I understand where you are coming from Steely, i got to games quite regularly around one every month and the behavior is usually fine. Then when Cardiff play the big teams or rival teams these people turn up none of them wearing replica shirts, well none of them wearing official replica shirts and they cause trouble, they only turn up against the big clubs like when Spurs played them and when they played Arsenal, or the Bristol City game. Id of said they probably get about 50-100 people turning up to these games just to cause trouble, you look around when they play the teams like Colchester, Scunthorpe etc and they are these people are nowhere to be seen.

If Cardiff made the Premiership id hope there would be less violence as the people causing the violence i dont think would be able to afford to get a season ticket and id expect it to be sold out every game.

But yes many of the Cardiff fans are amongst the scummiest in Britain, but alot of them are just regular folk getting a bad reputation because of these clowns.

you just have to type in google "cardiff city fans are scum " and check the second line "Bobs Board" , reports of Cardiff fans behaving disgustingly ..

No major trouble at the Final though ...only five arrests according to police ....

thats because the majority of the grief was away from the ground. the pubs stretching up from baker street in the city up to wembley have been well and truly abused by them.

urine all over the pub floors and bar (not the toilets), smashed glass everywhere, ceiling damage from people standing on tables and whacking the ceiling for fun as well as the endearing bit of fun involving hurling whole pints of beer at the ceiling and revelling in the rainfall of beer and glass.

windows were damaged, innocent workers, pedestrians and citizens were abused. anti english drivel was a constant and for some reason hardly any of this, if at all, was reported.

i thank heavens that they did not win and get into europe. imagine these idiots in Istanbul, Moscow and the like. we could have found ourselves banned from Europe over the actions of a bunch of chavvy stone island/burberry clad welshman.

well ....you would have thought if it was that bad the pubs or someone would have called the police . Maybe they did and there was no one available ...all at the Cup Final ..

Maybe it has been exaggerated .....these reports are from forums or blags or whatever ....just as you should not believe everything you read n the papers ....some rivals fans could be winding others up .

Who knows for sure ..
