Yup.

Carrick signs on for four more years:

Quote:

Sir Alex Ferguson said: "I am delighted Michael has signed a new contract.

"Michael has been outstanding since joining us from Tottenham and it is great to know he will be a part of this squad for many years to come."

He(Carrick) said: "Manchester United is a fantastic club and it is a pleasure to be part of this great squad.

"I believe this team will be together for many years to come.

"To win back-to-back titles in my first two seasons at the club is a dream come true."

He's been playing well for United and I think its a good for both United and Carrick...

DANIEL ALVES has put Manchester United red alert by saying he wants to leave Seville.

The Brazilian ace was on the verge of joining Chelsea last summer before Blues owner Roman Abramovich refused to cough up £25million.

United hope to bring in the right-back as a replacement for Gary Neville but face stiff competition from Barcelona.

The Catalan giants' new boss Pep Guardiola has also targetted Alves as well as his Seville team-mates Christian Poulsen and Seydou Keita.

The interest from two of Europe's biggest clubs has unsettled the 25-year-old and he has revealed he is ready to move on.

Alves said: "I really want to leave now and I hope that everything will be finalised as soon as possible."

Not a massive fan, especially for the type of money surrounding him but I wouldn't be upset if he came. Doubt it though.

ManU are looking at two French teenagers. They are, 15 year old Rennes left back Jeremy Helen who is one of the most sought after teenagers in Europe and was also being chased by Inter, Real Madrid, Everton, Newcastle and Arsenal to name a few. The second is the France under 16's captain Darnel Situ who is currentloy under contract at Lens.

Hélan has been signed by United but having already signed a pre-contract for Rennes ( Hélan trains at INF clairefontaine) there is a legal problem that lawyers are dealing with

ahh here i go with my first post on this interesting site... i feel:

1 - Ronaldo wont go, he says he'l make a decision that will make himself and his club very happy. he is, in his words ''very happy''.
2 - We do need a striker, if we had that extra option this season then i feel the league would have been won before the last day Smile.. that said, i dont want to see a player as immense as Tevez having to fight for his place.
3 - Right back, i wouldnt mind if we didn't get one, Neville can last a season, and Brown has proved this season that only he can do the job for united.. unbelievable player this season.

So i say we'l buy a striker for a huge amount of money, taking no chances... i do see united pushing for a right back for the long term but i wouldnt think its at the top of their agenda.

I think the the best purchase Man Utd can make would be David Villa. Right now Man Utd need a certain goal scorer up front. its great having ronaldo but if villa were to arrive i think he could do what van nistlerooy did for the champions.

Guys , What are ur thoughts abt madrid's desperate attempt to catch ronaldo?
Very interesting?

not interesting, disgusting. im tired of madrid just buying well established players who are already happy with their current european clubs. they use dirty tactics and biased newspapers to lure the stars into their club and im quite tired of it. thanks to fergie and quieros they've been brought down slightly, and Man Utd (who are now the biggest club in the world) wont have any of it!

However that said, its likely ronaldo may go to madrid in the future, purely because his mother wants him there one day. Fair enough to the lad, he is a superb player, if he just serves united for a few more seasons and then goes i dont think any party will have many complaints

madrid are pushing there luck , even if we were going to sell ronaldo it would be bad to sell to madrid anyway as they never pay the money or if they do it takes ages , when they have bought players in the past they went bust straight away and just got the king of spain to buy there training ground off them followed by him building them a new one for free( 3 or 4 times thats happened) the only reason we got the money for beckham straight up was because the king chiped in to spains NHS for it.
also remember when we sold stam to lazio and i took us 5 years to get the money.

madrid are rumored to have offered 50 million plus Robinho , Sergio Ramos and Mahamadou Diarra
which they say is equal to 150 million

100 million for a brazilian who was tiped to be a star but so far the only intresting football headlines he has had was when his mum got kidkapped and and if ramos is one of the best defenders in the world why would madrid want to offload him after spending 27 million on him a mear 3 year ago hes 22 its not like hes close to passing it , which leaves us to Diarra and the main concern over him is the fact that he's african and so far ever african player at Old Trafford as been about as succesful as djemba djembas first touch ontop of a giant button that could distroy the world.

I have not read all the thread so im sorry if this has been said, but are you Man United fans not worried about where the goals will come from if Ronaldo doesn't have the same kind of season. I know you have other players but he is your only out and out goalscorer and he is a winger. IMO you have yet to replace Van Nistelrooy, maybe you will this summer. I think a forward, like a Van Nistelrooy, and a right back are the only players you need but i might be wrong.

It is no secret that without Ronaldo's goals we wouldn't have won the league. We do need a out and out striker that can get us goals. Whether Fergie will get one is another matter.

If Ronaldo leaves money will be spent.

we created Ronaldo, if he leaves then its a loss but i, standing united with the rest of the fans say ''HELL NO WE AINT WORRIED!''

Fergie said if he pushes to leave then he'l watch the season from the stands.. if ronaldo pushes to leave then Fergie will just give him a boot out, remember no player is too big for the club.

As far as our 'goals' go, then fakeplastictrees has it in a nutshell - if Ronaldo goes, money will be spent. we already have manucho for next season, i presume we'l get Robinho/Ramos/Diarra as part of the Ronaldo exchange plus alot of cash for his replacement. i dont think we'l be lacking goals at all next season.

p.s. - i wont hate or dislike Ronaldo post a united exit... he's a great player and has done great things for the club...if the boy's dream was always to play for Real then we cant really argue with that!
