No. He has said that he is close to signing a new deal. The only reason the crap about him wanting to leave got to the papers is because of his old agent. He now has a new agent and has said he has no plans to leave his local club.

i was recently staying in seaton burn near Newcastle with work and had a laugh with a geordie called johnny and he informed me at cracking bar called player's (the women were fantastic by the way) that mr taylor was a member of the pink brigade.....

are these rumours true and is why the other defenders from Newcastle run away excluding beye when taylor is trying to defend agaisnt the opposition......

ITK Newcastle info Wink

Ashley has had a look at all the delayed payment obligations that Newcastle have made in the last few years, and the wages they are scheduled to pay over the next 2 seasons and sh!t a brick.

He has told Keegan to offload Owen, as they cant afford his 120k wages this season, others will leave but hes the main one. They are even willing to sibsidise his wages at another club to seal the move.

Owen is on 102k not 120k, if that makes any difference Laughing. It is well known that the owner has a problem with the wages we are paying. But i think he would rather sell Duff and Emre (who will be on around 50k each) then sell owen. We also have Barton on 50k so if he is worried about wages, then Barton will be kicked out.
If your team is not playing in Europe then you have to pay high wages. If he wants to start cutting the wages then i cant see us attracting the players we need.

Isnt it a matter of public record, Owens wages? After the whole FA has to pay him while hes injured thing?

And you cant just 'kick players out', if they have a contract you need to get others to sign them from you and noones signing Barton. Im sure theres some clause that you dont have to pay him while hes in jail, id atleast hope so tho.

And yes the likes of Duff and Emre are going too, but Owen is the one he needs to get off the books, even if its not all his wages.

I thought Owen was on 120k myself but it was in the local paper he was on 102k. Im thinking it was a mistake but i hope it wasnt.
There is talk that we might be terminating his contract. We wont be paying his wages while he is in jail but the club doesnt need anymore bad press. Keegan hasn't said anything about it yet and we will just have to see what he wants to do. If we stand by him i will not be that bothered but im not sure about the rest of the fans.
I havent got a clue what is gonna happen with owen. IMO he is still one of the best in the Prem and it will be a massive loss if we lose him. But i cant really blame him if he moves elsewhere. You cant expect him to take the kind of pay cut that has been said in the press.
Lots of people have different opinions of Owen but he was one of our best players this year.

You b*stards better leave him alone! First you take our transfer targets and now you want our captain! Laughing
He is gonna need to take a pay cut if he leaves so he might stay. I hope so anyway.

I hope this is true. I just picked up the local newspaper and seen this on the back page!

Quote:
SHOLA AMEOBI was today the subject of an ambitious move from MLS side Toronto FC, who would love to sign the former England Under-21 striker.

The BMO Field outfit would join Norwich City and Middlesbrough as teams tracking Ameobi, after the player indicated he did not want to go to Stoke.

Former Newcastle coach John Carver is in charge at Toronto, and is keen to bring Ameobi to join him and another ex-United star, Laurent Robert.

And while many may think a move to Canada is too premature, Carver insists a deal would instantly elevate Ameobi from a player out in the cold to a terrace idol in Toronto.

Carver – who saw Ameobi grow up and go on to star in the Champions League during his successful stint on Tyneside – told me from Toronto: “I need some firepower up front and I am looking for new players, especially a striker.

“I’ve got my side organised now and have made Toronto difficult to beat, but I need to sign players in that area.

“Shola is a kid I brought through the system at Newcastle United, and a kid I know an awful lot about.

“If I can get Shola into this football club he would be a huge, huge asset for us.”

Ameobi is so bad i will being happy to pay for his plane ticket to get over there. I am sick of seeing him play in a Newcastle shirt and will be happy if he left on a free transfer. He is sooooo bad. He has a crap goal scoring record and the only reason he has been here so long is because people call him a "local lad" ( Laughing ), what a joke. He has nothing about him at all. Yes he is tall but he cant header the ball and hes not very strong. He has a crap shot and no speed. When he went on loan to Stoke he was so bad in his first few matches, he was put on the bench for the rest of the games. This was after they paid us something like half a million for a 2month loan. There was a deal nearly done between Stoke and us but there did not want to spend the 4million on him. I dont know if he will go to Toronto but i hope he does. Toronto are managed by John Carver who i never liked when he was here and it shows hes a bad manager if he is going after this clown. Ameobi has showed he cant play in the championship so i dont know who else will be interested. Maybe Boro Laughing

Only rumours I think are realisic so far are Arda Turan, the 21 year old Galatasaray midfielder valued at £12m. He'll be playing in the Euro's so we'll see how he does.

The other is Le Mans defender Stephane Sessegnon, valued at £5.5m. Although I would say this is a risk as he isnt established, unlike Cuellar, however he will stay at Rangers in my opinion.

I would fancy Santander striker David Guiza, he looks a good player from what I have seen, and possibly Samuel Kuffour who was available on a free last time I looked.

Keegan said that he is not interested in Turan. The rest im not sure about. Welcome to the site, are you a Newcastle fan?

well i am a rangers fan so i would be dissapointed if we lost him but it being england there can be big munny offers in and rangers might not be able to refuse like the hutton to Spurs senario but i think if he played outside the SPL in a better league such as the EPL then he would be worth about 10 mil as he has been consistant in big games such as rangers run in the uefa cup and it would be a big profet for rangers to get Smith plus 3 or 4 mill for him i think if an offer of that came in then rangers would take it like thay did with Hutton

i think the UEFA cup final summed up cuellar (or it might have been the semi-final, 2nd leg, i forget). one of the commentators mentioned cuellar's name every time the opposition went on an attack. he cleared so much danger, and broke down a lot of theit attacks. the commentators gave him so much praise in that game, and i dont think it was a one off either. he rreally is a great defender. he reminds me a bit of taylor. a big hard, no-nonsense centre back that is committed.

a swap for smith and a bit of cash, yes please. smith has been useless for us this season, a right waste of money. we are already quite over-crowded in the midfield department, so offloading smith would be brill.

a rumour on sky sports:

Quote:
Newcastle are weighing up a move for Cameroon international Achille Emana.

Kevin Keegan is keen to get new faces in as soon as possible and has set his sights on Toulouse's talented midfielder.

It is understood that talks between the Magpies and the Ligue 1 side have already begun, with Emana expressing an interest in moving to the Premier League.

The 25-year-old has a contract in France until 2011, but his agent Sebastien Thiery is confident that an agreement can be reached.

"Achille is ready to play in the Premier League and Newcastle is a team he would relish playing for," said Thiery.

"He is strong and is a box-to-box midfielder who also possesses a lot of pace.

"He has the right number of caps and the right amount of experience at 25 not to be overawed by the Premier League, which would be an exciting challenge."

we get linked with quite a few non-heard of players, a lot of which seem to be african. i would mind being linked with some good old home-based epl players. at least then we can comment on whether it would be a good signing or not.

Big Kev "the Messiah" Keegan's summer rebuilding
