I personally think it's a nice idea, and hope you find what you are looking for.

I have a few questions about the level 2 course. I have had regular participation In football since I was about 8. I have been coaching my uncles team for a few months since I completed the level 1 course. Do you think I should start level 2 soon or get some more coaching experience. Should I go and watch a few experienced coaches for a while? How much of a difference are the level 1 and 2 courses.

Well I haven't done level 1 yet but i'm sure it has to be better to get a bit more experience first rather than diving straight in. It may also help to see some other coaching styles of other people and piece together the good bits of different people and make your own new style.

When you finished your level 1 did they not give you a recommeded time to start your level 2 ?

No they didn't recommend a time to start level 2. They said watch a few experienced coaches for a while and thats about it.

If you've been involved in coaching and they didnt give you a time period before starting the level 2 maybe you should contact the FA you completed the coaching course with and ask them if you should start your level 2 now.

i took my level 1 course last year and coached an under 12's girls team for a season, seriously was so good and rewarding,i was sad to leave them!!! But get this! Over here you don't need to be qualified, i could have been anyone and they let me coach, for a country so obsessed with sueing people you would have thought they'd be a bit more strict!!!

just been on the fa site to find out about the level 1 coaching... What do i need to know before actuslly going on the course, or will i learn everything i need to know there??

You learn everything you need to know on the course, you do 20 games over 2 weeks and some theory on different nights.

You get a game to do and have a practice a week before the assesment.

You are given a folder with loads of different information in.

Is it relatively easy?

yes its so easy, its a garanteed pass ass long as u turn up to all the sessions.

Is that AYSO?

Hello Mate. Is it a big jump from Level 1 - Level 2? I remember my Level 1 tutor saying he thinks there should be a stop gap between the 2.

Can anybody explain the big differences in difficulty? For example are they looking for your technical knowledge - your people skills - your tacticul skills etc

Great Forum. It is quite a big step between L1 and L2 mainly because the L2 is probably the first vocational badge on the ladder leading to the pro licence. the two main subjects in the L2 are technique and 6v6 SSG. the course will start with a weeks course and you will be shown how to coach these two subjects with the main emphasis on the coaching formula "stop, show, rehearse, play" within this week you will have to conduct one session of each while being assess by the instructor after this physically demanding week (and it is) you are given your work book and have to complete 16 hours of logged coaching with four out of the sixteen linked and you have to complete your task book. You then have two extra sessions, one of which is a rules of the game exam and you are also given your two topics for you final. The final is very tense and in the group you all have to work together, its no good for the group if you have three or four players thinking they are on trials for Man U. your two 25 min sessions are then assess by an independent FA assessor, you then get told if you have passed or not. If you haven't you get two more goes then have to start again. If you pass then you go for your L3 (UEFA B) and that is about the same step up again.............easy!!!
From start to finish it takes between 6-8 months. I hope this answers your question

FREDDIE can not be referring to AYSO. I am an AYSO coach and you must be trained and certified to be an AYSO coach. As you move up each level, you need to be certified for that level. In fact, I will spend this weekend away at coach training prior to the start of the spring season.

What is the youngest age you can be to take your coaching badges?

i have done level 1 fa and spoke to the coaches there from bristol city, plymouth etc.. there all part-time, you will have to go to a college aswell to find work or something like that!!!

Im lookin to be a football coach in the future but im only 17 and im lookin for advise as where i should start on badges and what should follow on after them. Im lookin to do badges in the summer so does any1 know any courses or anything? cheers for help

For the 16 hours of logged coaching for level 2, do you have to work with another coach to verify that you actually have done the 16 hours?

I completed my level 1 last november and i'm beginning my level 2 at the end of august.
