In the 1996/97 Raul was still a teenager (19 years) and he managed 21 goals and 25 assists. This season 07/08 Aguero managed 19 goals and not sure how many assists, at the exact same age as Raul.

We could be having a real legend here, unlike some other English overrated players, no?

Nah, there's only one Raúl. Agüero will need to show more skills if he wants to be a 10% of what Raúl is.
This is just my opinion, though.

I know you're so proud of yourself, but aren't you exaggerating? 10%? Aguero is much better than 10% of Raul & he has 19 goals and assists to prove it.

Aguero and Raul are very different players. Aguero relies on pace and silky dribbling skills while Raul is more about leadership and work rate. Raul had a lot more pace back then than he doesn now but I think that Aguero will go on to have a much different career than Raul has had.

Well, let's see:

- Agüero has scored around 30 goals in official matches with Atletico. Raúl has scored 300 with Real Madrid. That's a 10% of what Raúl has scored.
- Agüero has won nothing with Atletico. Raúl has won 3 Champions League, 6 Liga trophies, 2 Intercontinental Cups, 1 european supercup, 4 spanish supercups, 2 top scorer award... to name some of them.
- Raúl has scored 44 goals for the national team, I have no idea about Agüero, but he's recently been called for Argentina so he can't have scored more than 5.

So yeah, I'd say right now Agüero is a 10% of what Raúl is.

I don't think football quite works like that.

Maradona scored around 300 goals in his career and Romario scored around 1000. Was Maradona 1/3 of the player Romario was?

You can't just judge players o their past achievements. There's no doubt Aguero will have to work very hard to emulate anywhere near the amount of success that Raul has had and continues to have but to call him 10% of the player Raul is is disrespectful to Aguero's sublime talent.

Raul is 30, and he's not about to retire Wink

Maybe in 10 years I cannot say Agüero is 10% of the player Raúl is, but right now He has to work a lot to do what Raul has done.

Raul isn't respecting Aguero's talent, for obvious reasons i believe. But hey, he will never achieve as much as Raul - unless he moves to a real team.

Liverpool could do with him.

Aquero is perhaps the most talented young player in the world. Well, those under the age of 20.

Raul and Aguero are very different players. Raul is more of a striker, while Aguero more of a playmaking forward.

Sticky, I'm not disrespecting anyone, I think you're just overrating Agüero. The 10% thing was obviously a joke, I cannot compare two players from what they've won so far, cause as someone said above Romario would be 3 times better than Maradona. But it was a way to say Agüero has a long road to get where Raul is. That's it. Aguero is not as impressive as you seem to think...

He sure does seem like he is able to, he scored as many goals as Raul in his first season, and he ignites his crowd with speed & dribbling.
