Federer through after dropping the first set , and Nadal also safely through to the third round.
Three seeds fell today. Amelie Mauresmo lost in straight sets. This girl just can't seem to go far in her home tournament. The pressure always gets to her. David Nalbadian lost in 5 sets to Jeremy Chardy ranked 145 in the world. James Blake also out. |

That was a good match IMO. Great to watch. Also Jankovic has won her 2nd round match despite injuring her right forearm. That guy Montanes who Federer played against played extremely well in the first set. Although Federer made a lot of unforced errors(21 I think in the first set itself), Montanes made use of every opportunity given. But from second set on, he just lost it as Federer upped his game. Good to watch though. Nadal game was good. Again rain interrupted his play, but after that he was quick to finish the match and extend his unbeaten run at Roland Garros... |

Serena Williams has lost to Srebotnik in straight sets (6-4 6-4). Lots of unforced errors from Serena. Srebotnik was very very consistent however and that made the difference IMO...
M watching the Nadal-Nieminen match(3rd straight match against left-handers for Nadal)... |

Bit of a shock that Serena's gone out , I had through to the q/f at least.
And Murray is out , losing to a clay court specialist in four sets. I'm beginning to wonder when we're gonna see he best of Murray. I know clay isn't his favourite surface but he hasn't a lot at all this year. |

He is still young.
Unlucky Andy |

I was wanting Andy to win and i suppose he put up a fight in the end. He needs to work on his attitude though. It stinks. People (me being one of them) believe that Rooney needs to clean up his act but Andy is arguably worse. Do they not fine the players for bad language?

They get warnings then a points deduction in a game then a default , but that rarely happens.
There have been fines for foul language , but it has to be pretty extreme. |

Davydenko has lost to Ljubicic in 5 sets and Federer had a very easy outing against Mario Ancic...

Wow, a great perfomance from Ivanovic. Won her 4th round match against Cetkovska 6-0 6-0 in just 56 mins... That girl is doing well and peaking at the right time. Jankovic has also won her match against Radwanska although it was a bit difficult for her...

She's looking amazing all the time mate... But yeah, her Tennis was good today. As I said earlier, she's peaking at the right time IMO and she has a huge chance to win her first grand slam tournament... I'll certainly cheer on her side in the absence of Henin... |

Federer and Jankovic through.
The biggest shock was grunter ( Sharapova ) going out in three sets to Safina , well done to Safina , I didn't think she would do it. |
||||||||
|
|
|||||||||
|
Well IMO it was not a shock victory. Safina played excellent tennis. Sharapova relied more on her power than on clean tennis shots in that match. She wanted to dictate play all the time and she made many errors out of sheer desperation that she wasn't able to dictate play. Safina took her chances well and played a more defensive game against a desperate Sharapova. I think it became a personal kinda match in the third set for both of them and Safina wanted this match more than her opponent and she did it deservedly... Also one another good match was the Monfils-Ljubicic match. It was good to watch with Monfils winning in 4 sets to go to the Quarter-finals... |

I'm a bit gutted that this tournament has been moved to Eurosport. When it was on sky sports you had a choice of matches to watch. Now all we have is the one they show.

What happened to Sharapova? I've been seeing a few rumblings about it, but haven't been able to get the whole story. Apparently the crowd were booing at her for something? Did she say something bad or complained about something or another? Or were they just booing because of her poor play?

Ivanovic beats Patty Schnyder 6-3 6-2 to enter the Semi-Finals. I think she's the tournament favourite now...
@papa, I didn't read any report of Sharapova getting booed mate and when I watched it Live on TV, I didn't hear any booing specifically on for Sharapova. So could you give me any link as to where its reported. That match was good and both girls played well IMO. Sharapova even had match point when it was 5-3 in the second set, so she certainly played well. But Safina was just too good defensively and she capitulated on Sharapova's apparent frustration of unable to control play. SO when a lot of errors started to creep into to Sharapova's game, Safina just moved in for the Kill. But it was a very very hard fought match with long rallies from the baseline... |

It had nowt to do with her play. She disrespected the fans by not acknowledging them or signing autographs afterwards. |
