I'm quite looking forward to watching this encounter this afternoon....

Both countries already have one win each and another victory will
see either team go through to the knockout stages with a game to spare!

I think Germany are slight favourites and will just have enough in their locker to win...

I wasnt impressed with Croatia in their first game and they will need a big improvent today

Croatia 1 v 2 Germany is my prediction....

How do you all see it going?

This is the match that decides who gets through to the quarter finals. It should be a lively encounter, both teams having won their first match. Germany go about their business in an ordinary fashion, and do very well most of the time. Croatia played well in the first match though as well, so both teams will be battling for the points tonight. I'll sit on the fence for this match and say 1-1.

Croatia were very poor in their first game Tom.

But i do anticipate a good encounter that will be full of attacking flair and perhaps even some less than impressive defending. I think Croatia will get a goal with Modric getting on the ball in that Midfield , but all in all i'm backing the Germans to book their place in the Quarter finals with a 2-1 win. Ballack and Modric will be an interesting battle in the Middle of the Park whilst Croatia i think will once again be hampered by their lack of firepower upfront. I don't anticipate the partnership of Simunic and Kovac being too hard for Gomez, Klose and Podolski to breach.

Germany will win it in an entertaining match I think... 2-1 or 3-1 to Germany. I want Ballack to score one... Very Happy

Germany was far more impressive than Croatia in their opening match, against a bigger team that Austria. Germany to win comfortably.

Entertaining opening half, and no doubt who has been the better side. The Croats look more composed, comfortable on the ball, they are passing the ball around better and look fairly comfortable for their lead. Had Kranjcar had his shooting boots on, they could of really had one or two more. Jansen needs to come off, he is being exposed by Corluka and Srna time and time again on that German left hand side and whilst he is getting forward with moderate Defence they need to tighten up in that left back position. His hesitation led to Srna nicking that goal, he never should of allowed him to get to it.

Germany have just been all round disappointing.

Germany look a lot weaker than their opening game, or could it be that Croatia are a bit stronger than Poland.

A really poor comment after Croatia's second goal.

Personally I can't stand Croatia's constant diving, acting etc. The red card was ridiculous. Germany played a horrible game though and deserved to lose. Too many errors in the passing game.

One of the best performances from Croatia and one of the worst performances from Germany...

The Germans couldn't even find their target while passing and they were clueless in the defense. Gomes and Klose had a pathetic game...

Simply speaking pathetic performance from a so called tournament favourites.

Croatia's second goal had a piece of luck with a deflection and hit the post only to come to the feet of Olic, but they deserved to win. I'll even say they deserved to win by more than a 2-1 margin.

Germans were simply pathetic in their defense, midfield and attack... They couldn't defend, couldn't hold the ball and couldn't pass or tackle. The worst performance by a team I'd say... Pathetic...

agree. how was that a red card. schweinsteiger was just pushing him away after being fouled.

What a win for the Croats, fully deserved as well. They looked the more comfortable and the more composed throughout, and despite Germany having a lot of the possession in the second half they often looked quite tame with it, apart from Podolski's rocket obvously. First class from the Croatians though in my opinion, Modric ran the show and got plenty of help from Rakitic, Srna and Ollic with Corluka and Pranjic offering good support from the full back positions. Very good decision from Billic to change the formation and bring in Rakitic for Petric, and Croatia could well resume their tag of dark horses with that performance.
