I'm Already A Star - Modric

Croatia playmaker Luka Modric is full of confidence as his side meet Germany in Group B of Euro 2008 this evening...

This has nothing to do with Euro somewhat, because the question is - Is Modric already a star?

I mean compared to us he is a star, but if you compare him to Camoranesi, Ribery, Joe Cole he isn't that much of a star, now is he? He didn't really raise eye-brows in Croatia's opening game, he just scored a penalty. I haven't exactly seen him play so it's hard to judge..

In his own footballing region he's a star.

He's attracting interest from Clubs like Chelsea, Arsenal and Spurs amongst more top Clubs in Europe.

He has superb ability and I suppose for his age is a star. He's one of the best young footballers on the planet and will become an even bigger star in the future.

He was a lot more impressive in the first game than Camoranesi.

Players can't perform 24/7 hours perfectly, now can they?

He's certainly not short of confidence, and as has been said he is probably already a star in his native Croatia. He seems to be very good on the ball, with a good range of passing and the ability to start attacks from the middle of the park. I think he is very talented and will continue to progress with Spurs providing he plays regularly.

He looks a great player.

Let me put it this way ,i didn't know him before the Euro's and only heard of him on this site.What iv'e seen of him so far though in the two games hasn't amounted to anything. I don't know what he's supposed to be good at actually and looks like Reading FC quality so far.
In all honesty i haven't seen any stand ou players so far and i've watched almost every game.

What are you on about? He totally controlled the game today against Germany and was the best player on the park. Hes a bit lightweight but looks a real quality player, reminds me a lot of Paul Scholes in the way he plays only he can actually dribble as well

And up against Ballack and Frings that is no small feat.

THe guy is small but from everything ive herard it has never held him back, hes tough and physical and uses his pace, trickery, and nouse to get him out of situations.

I believe that once you are a star on Croatia, you are a star in football. I knew about him before Euros and he is living up to my expectation. Besides, when someone with his potential plays on the same field as Niko Kovac, he can't help but be great!

In Croatia he´s a major star, but I think it will take him at least a year to breakthrough in Spurs. Then that is said; he certainly have the potential to become one of the best at his position

I really don't know what you mean when you say I would like to know what to expect to see from him. All I know is Bilic hasn't tipped Modric to be the star of EURO 2008 for nothing and Tottenham surely wouldn't have paid 16 million for him if he hadn't got real quality, surely they would have learnt their lesson with Darren Bent.

He is either is full of confidence or just another player claiming to be a star, that's what I want the "wise" people to decide.

I'm not just saying this for a reaction ,i'm being honest. I really didn't see him do anything worthy of all the talk i heard about him on this site. Yes, he was getting a lot of the ball and seemed to be the main man on that team.But ,I didn't see him do anything that made me "say this guy looks a bit serious". maybe his supporting cast had a bit to do with it ,but overall i thought he was average. just an opinion ,we can disagree.
