i know we've just have 3 teams in the Champions League semi finals but i still believe that the overall quality of la liga is higher - every game will have great moments of skill and technique even though on occasions the rest of the game may be dull - but i would rather watch a dull liga match than the premiership equivalent because at least you still seem to see 'some' passes successfully completed and it's not just grunting and running

there's also another maybe superficial thing - more of their games are evening kickoffs with floodlights which seems to make the spectacle more attractive

ANOTHER FOOTBALLING MYTH - people here often think the defending there is worse because the games are open and the penalty box is cluttered . Infact the defending in la liga is much more intelligent (though we're changing here ) - many more of the goals are scored using defense splitting passes through the middle or exciting wing play especailly from the full back doubling up - what i love about spanish football is that you often cant tell the position of a player by watching the way they address the ball - i mean even centre backs are good on the ball

please post opinions
cheers jonny33

We have a better top four than their top four but as a whole league their standard is a lot higher.

La Liga has many good teams like Madrid, Barcelona, Villareal, Valencia, (was) Zaragoza etc. etc. etc. but their problem is that only Barca or Madrid usually stay in the CL for a while, and they don't win it often.

If the 20 teams were to go against each other, then La Liga is better, if the top 4 then EPL is better.

Top 4 teams in the EPL are better than La Ligas 4. But the over all quality of La Liga is better.

I don't feel like re-discussing this again, so my only question is: Who the heck is Carnevaro? Shocked

"Selvfølgelig har Real Madrid den bedste målmand (Casillas)i Spanien og “verdens bedste” (italieneren Carnevaro) i bagerste kæde"

Found this on google, says Carnevaro too :/

This debate seems to come up nearly every month. As ever, Premiership - Top 4 are stronger, if you take the league as a whole La Liga is stronger. The gap is closing now though with all this money the mid table Premiership clubs have

My opinion is the same.

But whoever said Real Madrid don't win the CL often is an idiot. They've won it more times than any other team.

Anyway, what's with the poll of defenders? What does that prove?!

As said before, the top 4 of the EPL are incredibly strong and can beat anybody. The overall quality of La Liga, however, is superior player for player and club for club and the technical standards are high throughout the league.

Why instead of saying in the last 6 don't you say in the last 10?
Then I'd have to say 3 times Wink

How many times has Juventus won it in the past 6 years or 10 years for that matter?

Is Juventus in La Liga or Premier League?

And none, although they did win it in 96
