Villa wins it late on. Spain win but havent really desrved to. Sweden also havent deserved to win so a draw would of been fair but thats the nature of football.

I dont agree with you. The whole game Sweden was just kicking the ball but Spain was trying to play football. and score. So they deserved to win.

What a finish. David Villa is quite all game long and then boom, he grabs the winner in extra time.

The first half was pretty exciting but the second half was a bit dull. The second half reminded me of how Italy matches usually are. One team passes around with no direction, while the other sits back and waits with the occasional counter.

Spain still has issues in the back and with the injury to Puyol it might be worse for the coming matches depending if he's out or not. Spain also lack the ability to change their game. They were desperate in the second half as they couldn't really make anything out of all the possession. They desperately need to find another way to play if they want to win this tournament.

Villa!!! Now there's the perfect example of his qualities... He's been quite all through the 90 mins except for one shot on target and then *bang*. He gets a half chance with 2 defenders on him and he just skips past them and finished it as coolly as you can do it...

That is why I want him at Arsenal. He can do things like this successfully when we have to grind out a result somehow. His touch was as delicate as you can get and his shot was a fantastic one...

Spain were good in the first half but was a bit dull in the second half... But this type of game is good for them as they grinded out a result against a team that defended really well this match.

Holland were very fluent in their attack and their attacking players worked as a single unit effectively and things were happening to them. Spain were not that efficient in their attack but they still have to grind out a result which will help them immensely against teams who defend a lot than attack...

I have a good feeling that Spain will go through to the Semis where they'll play Holland I think which will be a cracking game...

Horrible way to lose a match. I don't enjoy watching Spanish players dive for freekicks an entire game and getting away with it. They should have had a penalty in the first though. Without Zlatan Sweden lost too much offensive power to create chances.

We didn't play our best today Spain but we still played the best football during the game...

I thought Xavi and Iniesta were both disappointing and the coach was right to take them off...

Spain should have had a penalty just before half time but the ref decided not to give it for what ever reason

What a goal by Villa....He is available for only 17 million pounds and will be a bargain for someone....

I'm glad we will top the group and avoid Holland now in the quater finals...If Romania can hang on
to second place in their group then we will be playing them and not Italy or France which is a bonus!

I knew my lucky pants would bring me good fortune today!!...

The second half yes, the first half was a different thing though. As long as Zlatan was on the pitch Sweden attacked with more people and had the ball more. To say Sweden was just kicking the ball the whole game is just ridiculous.

Allright.. I thought again and i guess i was too harsh about that "whole game" part just because they made me yawn in 2nd half =) And i agree your thoughts about Zlatan also. He was holding the ball at the offensive end and keeping his team around Spain penalty area.

Is 17 million pounds = 62 Million USD??? As that is his value currently set by Valencia and Barcelona and Real have made bids for that money according to reports...

Zlatan was really good. He held the ball well and caused Spain problems, in particular with that superb pass to Larson that open up their defence. His goal was good as well. Good touch, good strength and balance to hold off Ramos, and then a good finish. Shame he had to come off.

If you actually think Valencia would sell him for just £17m you're living in a dream land. He will go for double that. Valencia would NOT have sold him for so little before this tournament, let alone after it.

Valencia are in a financial crisis at the moment and have to sell players in order to rebuild their team..
At the start of the season Villa's vale was £34m but it dropped to £17m by the end of the campaign......

Valencia were looking to sell him for ONLY £17m before the tournament started which is common knowledge
if you know Spanish football or like me come from there originally so I know what I'm talking about!!

Valencia will be very happy he has scored 4 goals so far and no doubt will profit from his goal scoring now!

There is no way he would've gone for as little as £17m though. I know Valencia have said that, but i think that was just to get clubs to bite. And then when they had rich clubs like Chelsea, Barca, Real Madrid and Inter bidding for him, they would crank his price up to profit as much as they could from a bidding war.

He was never going for as little as £17m.

It simply would not be able to happen with a striker of his calibre, when you've got all the big guns in Europe after him. They would all keep outbidding each other until it's WELL over the original measly £17m. C'mon, how often do you get CL and international strikers going for that much when all the big guns are sniffing around? It just doesn't happen. Most wouldn't think twice about adding another £10m to that asking price.
