Charlton manager Alan Curbishley has admitted Dean Kiely is growing increasingly unsettled at sitting on the bench.

The former Irish international has been limited to just four games this season, mainly due to injury - but he is now finding it difficult competing against both Thomas Myhre and Stephan Andersen.

Portsmouth and Wigan have both been linked with the 35-year-old and a move during this month's transfer window appears a viable option.

"Dean has never been second choice before and I have had chats with him," said Curbishley.

"He feels he should be our number one but I have said to him I am happy with having three keepers so we will have to see how that develops."

Curbishley reiterated that he was not about to swap Danny Murphy for Newcastle's Lee Bowyer.

"I have not spoken to Graeme Souness since I signed Darren Ambrose. There is no swap deal with Bowyer," he continued.

"Danny has been unsettled by it all but speculation is part of football, especially in this month when it is so intense.

"It is no secret that Lee Bowyer wants to come back to London but at the moment I am looking at other areas."

One player who could very well leave is Jason Euell - who is interesting a number of clubs including Birmingham, Portsmouth and West Ham.

"Jason had a very disappointing year last year," he said.

"It wasn't all his fault, it wasn't all my fault. Obviously he wants to play, like they all do.

"His beef with me was that when we were not doing so well I still didn't put him in. We put him on the list and during the summer he had a move to Birmingham that looked like being a go-er until he hurt his shoulder, which was no-one's fault.

"I can understand his frustration as he hasn't played for the first team in over a year but once that window closes, if no business is done he has got to get on with it.

"I have got a big squad but I have said to them that if anyone wants to go then we will try to do something about it."
