Clark plays down Cookie clash |
|
Newcastle midfielder Lee Clark has rubbished reports of a bust up with Fulham manager Chris Coleman after Saturday's dismal 1-0 defeat at Craven Cottage.
Reports suggested the pair had locked horns in the immediate aftermath of The Magpies' sorry display, with Clark upset over an incident involving Tomasz Radzinski which resulted in him being booked. Clark has admitted the pair exchanged words, but says they remain firm friends. "I never got within 30 yards of Chris ColeMan Until we were having a drink in his office after the game," he said. "I had another drink with him on Saturday night - and I even paid. "What has been reported as happened could not be further from the truth. Yes, we had words. I was angry because when I was booked, I felt that Tomasz Radzinski had dived and tried to get me sent off. "I told Chris that, but obviously he had to protect his own player. However, things are still fine with us - although I have to say speaking personally, I have had a horrible week." |
