A good away win for Deportivo there for sure and they
should have no trouble in the home leg now qualifiying for the Uefa cup.

Israel is never an easy place to visit for an away game in international or club football.

First leg to be played on 12 August and 13 August; the second leg on 26 August and 27 August.

Schalke -v- Atlético Madrid
Barcelona -v- Beitar Jerusalem 12 Wis³a Kraków

Schalke will be a tough team for Atletico to beat. Tie of the round i think and i just hope Atletico get through.
Barcelona it should be fairly comfy for them to go through but going to poland or israel wont be an easy feat.

Deportivo v Hajduk Split.

First leg on the 14th of August and second leg on the 26th of August.

I think Deportivo could struggle in this. Didnt do that to well in qualifying. I wouldnt be to suprised if they got knocked out.

I'm not very happy with the Champions League draw for Atletico Madrid

Its going to be a tough game against German side Schalke thats for sure...

The only good thing is that we are playing away first so if we can get a 0-0
or a 1-1 draw it will give us a chance as were playing the second leg at home...

I don't see to much trouble for Barcelona against Beitar Jerusalem..No disrespect intended for the Israeli side

I agree with you there G man about Deportivo...That Croatian team will be hard for them to beat

That's a really unlucky draw for Atletico.

I want them to get through and be in the same group as Liverpool.

Schalke 1-0 Atletico Madrid.....Att 54000.......

I guess it could have been worse but were still in the tie only losing by one goal...

I hope the lads can turn things around in the 2nd leg at home Wink

No result yet for Barcelona as they didnt start until 9pm but will post it later....
unless someone else knows what the score is!

I think it is unfortunate for both Schalke and Atletico Madrid to have been drawn to face each other. Schalke will find it difficult to face Atletico at home and can see them just edging it in the second leg.

Tonights Uefa cup result.....

Deportivo 0-0 Hajduk Split

A draw at home is a disappointing result for the Galicians

It will be very hard for them now to go too Croatia and win I feel

UEFA should've fixed it, so we get the good teams in.

It's a shame for Atletico, i don't think they are going to qualify. I really want them to though. I think we all want to see Aguero in the CL.

Your first paragraph is a big joke.

Why the hell should uefa "fix it"? Just so "bigger" teams can progress further. Everyone who participates in this should get a chance by a luck of the draw. If the "bigger" teams cant progress then thats there own fault. If Atletico wanna go through real badly then they gotta show it and go for it.

I don't think Sticky T meant Uefa should fix the games so that Atletico Madrid go through..

I think he meant the draw for the CL qualifiers should have been done better so that
big clubs like Shalke and Atletico avoid playing each other and can both reach the Group stages.

I will heart broken if Atletico miss out but if were beaten on the field of play then fair play to the Germans..

Lets all be more positive though...

We still have the 2nd leg to go at home and with a full house of 60,000 fans
behind Atletico the atmosphere will be electric and were only 1 goal down after all....
Anything can happen still.....Lets hope Forlan and Aguero have their shooting boots on.

Thats just the way the draw goes though hams. Other teams who go through instead of say schalke, they would like to think they are better than them.

Congratulations to Atletico.

But they have to do very well in the groups stage, because they're in 4th "group of teams(?)" (UEFA Coefficient)
