Liverpool will not play in next years champions league |
|
the latest news is Liverpool will not be in the Champions League next year despite winning the
trophy last night in what was one of the greatest combacks of all time . The people at Uefa says that rules are rules and it was not up to them to say who qualifies , the year when Real Madrid were able to defend the trophy despite finishing fifth in the league , the spanish fa awarded the fourth place spot to Real Madrid instead of Real Zaragoza who were in that spot. Therefore it was down to the English FA/Premier League to decide and they have already said that Everton will take the fourth spot next year....so does anyone agree , is it our fault or should Uefa make a change? |

My oppinion on this - Winners of the competition should automatically qualify for the Champions Leauge. Everton do not deserve to miss out next year, and Liverpool do deserve a place in the competition also. Therefore the only fair thing is to issue an extra qualifying spot to the country where the winners play.

I agree with ya O Dogg it will be unfair if Liverpool don't get to defend their title after all they did work really hard to get it and they do deserve it after all

yeah agree with that , a team should be rewarded for winning the Champions League . I just wonder could uefa`s descision change steven gerrard`s mind about wanting to stay at Liverpool if they are not allowed to defend the trophy next year . |

Liverpool are the european champions so surely they should be able to play in the "CHAMPIONS" league. They should just take the place of a rubbish croatian team in the qualifiers.

They have to put them in, its a pish comp without the defending champs!
They will need to make it so that a nation doesnt lose a place and the only way i think is to make 1 group with 5 teams. |

Welsh outfit Total Network Solutions have offered Liverpool an unlikely route into next season's UEFA Champions League by proposing to play The Reds in a winner-take-all qualifier.
Liverpool are still on a high following their shoot-out win over Milan in Wednesday's Champions League final, but Uefa attempted to bring them down to earth by insisting their participation in next season's competition is 'unlikely'. The Reds finished fifth in The Premiership and out of the qualification spots, with Uefa insistent only four teams will represent England next season. The FA have the option of lobbying Uefa to secure a fifth spot, but Welsh qualifiers TNS have now added a new twist by offering to face Liverpool in a one-leg tie, with the winner going through to the first qualifying round. The proposal would need the backing of the English FA, the FA of Wales and Uefa, which seems highly unlikely as it would substantially devalue the competition, but TNS have made the offer to The Reds. "We would be supportive of this idea if it could be achieved with the approval of Uefa, the English FA and the FA of Wales, without in any way devaluing our league's future place in Europe," TNS owner Mike Harris told the club's website, saints-alive.com. "It would help to raise the profile of the Welsh domestic league and have the additional benefit of offering Liverpool a way of defending the title." |
