it's for 'deputy president: welfare and equal opportunities officer' for the students union.

its a sabbatical position, so hopefully i'll graduate in a few months and it will be my job for july 2006- june 2007.

nominations open on monday so im $hitting bricks already! then i'll have weeks of campaigning and manifestos. and then speeches and question time the sunday before election (league cup final day dammit!)

basically, if i get it i'll be running all the liberation campaigns (women's, LGBT, students with disabilities, black students, interntional students, welsh speakers) for my uni and trying to the get the relavent part-time officers engaged and involved. (like im womens officer at the mo, and i do it part time alongside my degree in my spare time, and theres a part-time officer for female students, international students, LGBT students, students with disabilities etc)

and i'll have a trillion meetings and conferences Confused yey!

Looks like Charlton will miss one unlucky striker.
From http://www.womenssoccerscene.co.uk:

Ann Marie Heatherson's disastrous run of injury and illness has continued and she is set for another long spell out of the game.

The Charlton Athletic striker suffered a broken foot in training last week and will be sidelined for most of the rest of the season. It is a devastating blow for the bubbly 21-year-old, who had just fought her way back into the first team after mumps had ruled her out for several months.

Charlton manager Keith Boanas said: "It's another blow for Ann, and it's very hard for her. She had just come back from her illness and was starting to look her old self."

Ann Marie sustained the injury during training last Friday, and although it was initially believed that she only had a numb foot, a broken bone was eventually diagnosed. "It turned out to be more serious and it looks like she's out for the next six to eight weeks, which will mean she's missed virtually the entire season," added Keith.

The injury continues a cruel run for the striker, who was hoping this season would see a change of fortune after injury problems during 2004/05 as well. She won a race against time to come back from a leg problem to feature in Charlton's FA Cup final victory in May, but will now miss the Premier League Cup final against Arsenal on March 5th at the Causeway Stadium, home of Wycombe Wanderers.

Despite the setback, Charlton captain Casey Stoney is determined to take the trophy back to The Valley after defeat to the Gunners in last season's final. "We are really looking forward to this year's final and hope as many fans will come to Wycombe to support us as possible," said Casey.

"Last year we didn't perform as we know we can, so this year we will be aiming to give it 100 per cent and make sure we do ourselves justice.

"Both sides are very competitive and after winning the FA Cup last season, we are determined to get some more trophies in the cabinet."

Also doubtful for the Final is defender-cum-midfielder Emma Coss, due to illness, but left back Eartha Pond played her first competitive match since October 2004 in last weekend's FA Cup Fifth Round victory against Fulham.

"Emma is almost in the reverse position to Ann," said Boanas. "Earlier this season it was injury and now illness is keeping her out. They are two major players, and while it obviously gives other people opportunities, as a manager you want as strong a squad as possible."
