Rodriguez signs with Depor |
|
Malaga midfielder Juan Rodriguez is understood to have signed a pre-contract agreement with Deportivo La Coruna.
The 23-year-old, who operates in the heart of midfield, will become a free agent at the end of the season when his contract expires. Malaga had been hoping to persuade the youth product to sign an extension, but have fallen some way short of his economic demands. As a consequence, Depor stepped in to make a counter offer to the player who has been entitled to talk to interested parties since January 1. It appears they have now agreed terms on a five-year deal with Rodriguez's agent Manuel Garcia Quilon and he is understood to have put pen-to-paper on a pre-contract. Depor are in a phase of rebuilding with Joaquin Caparros having taken charge at the club at the start of this season. Caparros has introduced a nucleus of new players at the club and is widely tipped to make many more changes at the end of the campaign with the likes of midfielders Aldo Duscher and Sergio tipped to leave. As such, he has already moved to find new recruits with Rodriguez the first to commit himself to the new project at The Riazor. |
