Real Madrid whiz Robinho says it should be they - not Barcelona - that signs Arsenal captain Thierry Henry in the summer.

"If I had to play alongside Thierry Henry, it would make me very happy," Robinho said when it is suggested to him that if the Frenchman moves to Spain at the end of the season it will not necessarily be to Barcelona.

"He thrives on the rapid passing moves that we like to play and he's always looking to score goals. If he came here, of course it would help us. He is an excellent striker. A fantastic all-round footballer. Very quick and with so much quality on the ball."

The curious thing is that if Henry plays in Madrid perhaps Robinho will be in the bench because they can't play with 4 strikers at the same time. But it won't happen because Henry will play in Barça Very Happy

Well if Madrid get a new manager over the summer, Ronaldo could be on his way out!

Yes it can be but they won't sign Henry I think. Perhaps Ibrahimovic or Adriano.

Ronaldinho and Henry are worth a season ticket alone, I would be watching every Barca game I could get my hands on just to see that pair on the same team! Would be amazing!

Henry is a great player and all that, but please, no more strikers in Real. I wouldn't like him to sign for Barcelona because it would be another threaten, but I prefer it, his talent doesn't deserve to be wasted.

You all want him. But he's a true Gooner, and will wear the Arsenal shirt this season, the next season and more seasons after.

I have mentionned it somewhere before. A dream for every truth football fan.
If Henry can't go to Barca, why not the other way around? Arsenal signing Ronaldinho Rolling Eyes
J-Axe, it is too early to salivate: it isn't going to happen. Razz

Yeah, but Arsenal needs to spend big. Why not find a ronaldinho, zidane, figo, Joaquin or deco alike players for him?
Park or nakamura would have been a good thing for Arsenal. Why wenger never realized it? There are lots of good asian game-makers. At the time, they are very cheap. With a good midfield, Henry and Van Persie would be a nightmare for every PL club( well, except Chelsea Wink ).

Moravcik, I think Real is the worst choice for Henry. Real can lure players with money, but Henry isnt the type that go for money.

Well it was about a month ago that Wenger publicly asked him to sign it, stating it was a fantastic offer or something. Whats happened since then?

Personally I think Henry is waiting to see if Arsenal will qualify for the Champions League, this factor could sway his decision I think.

i think the least he could do is sign the contract so he can get Arsenal more money in the transfer ...if it does happen...i think it would be a good way to repay the team that made him a legend ... and that way he gives Arsenal a chance to recover from the blow...

I'm not sure what the hold-up is in signing a contract, if he is, but I am one that doesn't believe he owes Arsenal anything. Granted is was Wenger who took him under his wing, moved him to a different position and Henry became the player he is today. The by product of that is Arsenal has flourished, and it's been Henry who has been instrumental in whatever success the Gunners have experienced. I’d say is that not somewhat of a payback? For me I say yes. Wenger himself has said he's owed nothing by Henry, and I truly believe Henry doesn't feel he has a debt to pay either. Loyalty is one thing, but a debt is something difference.

Now back to the original topic of Robinho's statement, I find it laughable whenever another player says this about Henry. Who wouldn't like to play alongside him? It's really not a story, I think a story is someone saying that they wouldn't like to play alongside him.

Yeah I have to agree oranje, if someone said they'd hate to play alongside Henry then i'd take more notice. Not only that every team in the world wants him playing for them, so when he is linked somewhere I never listen anymore.

I think Henry is waiting to see if Arsenal are playing Champions League football next season before signing a new deal.

Well said oranjepalooza.
I wonder how the critics will react if the blues( Chelsea) snaps him.
