yet again England get an easy group..... Rolling Eyes

Scotland though, just as we are beginning to create a team which I believe could bring some serious pride back into Scottish football, we get lumped with Italy, France, and the Ukraine..... Shocked

The only real hope would be to beat these teams at Hampden (whcih we've proven we can do) and then keep things tight away from home. These teams will all take points off of each other, including Georgia and Lithuania, and we might slip though in second.... Question

to guys from england who say you have an easy group: i think you'll fight for 2nd place...
i really hope we (CROATIA) and russia pass through qualifies... and i hope we kick your asses on wembley...
respect to my friend from scotland, i'm just angry that guys from england think they are in the centre of the world...

It's still 2 years away, and Staunton and Robson might pair well in sorting a good side out for it. We were so unlucky to get put out of the World Cup. France and the Swiss scraped through. Besides we've had great results in friendlies with such teams. 0-0 with Brazil, beat Portugal 1-0.

We have a lot of new young exciting players coming through the ranks also. Hopefully we get Duff on form for that competition also, as I thought he was lacking in the later WC Qualification games.

He isnt playing enough at Chelski and Keane has the same problem at Spurs but hes playing more recently though. We have Doyle, Kitson and Long at Reading, Trundle at Swansea, Kelly at Spurs and O'Brien at Bolton and ireland at Man City all coming through and McGeady, O'Brien at Newcastle, Stokes and a few more are all promising players for the future

Yup, they all are promising. Especially O'Brien at Bolton, McGeady & Stephen Ireland. Duff needs more games definetly. His form went down hill from this season with Chelsea.

Scotland can still go through, we can beat Ukraine, Georgia, Fareo Islands, Lithuania and (possibly) Italy and France.

So all in all I think we can go through. Wink Wink Wink Wink

Ukraine, Italy and france wont be eas to beat. Ukraine were the first team to qualify for the World Cup and have Shevchenko in attack while italy are the U-21 European Champions and will have some more good players coming through by the time the thing starts and France...not great but they will still be tough for Scotland.

I think the team to watch for a surprise in 2008 may be Russia. Hiddink has been known to pull off miracles. If ever there was a nation capable of producing raw footballing talent but unable to pool their talent into a solid team... its definitely Russia.

Russia will definately be a team to watch. Look at what he did with Australia, he only had just over a year to achieve what he did. With 2 years at the helm they could become a force.

I just don't know how the hell are these teams seeded.

3 Groups extremely competitive: A, B and F.

1 Group that makes everyone sick: C.

Damn it.

Turkey have had a really dissapointing run in international football lately. We placed third in WC2002 Smile , couldnt qualify against Latvia 3-2, and couldnt qualify against Switzerland for WC2006 after 4-4 aggreg. this time we shoul get it coz we got Terim bak as National coach!!

England always get an easy group! Nearly every other group has at least 2 top teams in it.

On Irelands chances, I tink we can qualify ahead of Czech Rep, half their team is retiring now and they didnt look great at the world cup. germany will be tough but they dont have home mementum anymore. Its not going to be easy but I think we have a good chance.

Draw for Euro 2008 Qualifiers
