He's nothing special. Makes the odd decent save now and again but he is a liability.

If you say so Rolling Eyes

I can see how hard you thought about that comment.

I guarantee the majority of neutral fans would rather have Robinson over Lemon in their team.

i rate lehmann very highly. hes an angry german, but you have to have passion to play this game, and i think its that fire that has made him get better every game and endowed him to us gooners. cech and buffon are the only keepers i would trade him for. hes been in the big games and most of the time he wins them. cl was a mistake, it happens. lehmann is class

Lehman won award of best Keeper in the Champions League last season so it doesn't get much better than that. I had him down as being the best keeper in the league last season and the best keeper in the world cup e.g. Argentina penalty shoot out.

Only due some of Lehman antics is why a lot of oppositon fans don't like, but there is no question that Lehman is the far the better keeper out of the two Robinson doesn't come close.

Would anyone fancy Robinson in goal for england in a penalty shoot out against Argentina? I certainly wouldn't.

So what has Robinson won otherwise to prove he is a better keeper than Lehman? Because it isn't his league performances, or CL experience or his performances in the World cup.

I mean the only thing Robinson has done is fail the Arsenal medical a couple of years ago(which no joke he actually did) and looked poor for England.

Lehman is winning the awards, having better performances in the league, easily the better world cup of the two and Lehman was brilliant in the Champions League let alone the only one out of the two in it. So unless someone can come up with a decent excuse otherwise, Lehman is far better in my opinon.

Which althought I am Arsenal surporter i am Not being biased on this situation, e.g. one of the guys I have been screaming my head off for england to start is Lennon and I rate Defore highly from his West Ham days aswell.

Awards don't mean anything. Ray Parlour has won trophies and Michael Carrick has not. In Parlour's day, he was not as good as Carrick is now.

This is my point with Lemon and Robinson. Paul Robinson is by far the better goalkeeper, achievements aside. I just don't get why any football fan would question this. Confused

Due to Lehman playing better than Robinson over the course of the year, also being brilliant CL and having a far better world cup than Robinson might have something to do with it Laughing .

As said before would anyone fancy Robinson against Argentina in a penalty shoot out? I certainly wouldn't. Too slow, Unfit, sluggish and overrated.

Before Portugal beat England they were saying in the paper that Englands weakness was Robinson being a poor keeper and of not of international standard. Whilst there was nothing but praise for Lehman for his World cup performances from critics, fans, players, managers etc.

As with all footballers, they have their strengths and their weaknesses. Gary Neville's weakness is probably goalscoring and his strength is tackling. Whereas Ruud Van Nistlerooy's streanght is goalscoring and his weakness is tackiling.

Lemon may have a strength of saving penalties (on the rare occasion that there is one), and a weakness of handling maybe.
Robinson however may not be the greatest penalty saver, but he has fantastic handling. But obviously everyone makes the odd mistake every now and then.

I feel on the whole and many people will agree, that Paul Robinson is overall the more reliable and better goalkeeper. Lemon has a temper that can blow at any time; which makes him a liability.

Robbo gets my vote.

Lehman handling isn't his weakness, his hadling is probably still better than Robinson. Lehman only weakness is his temper, however i do feel you overrate this point. Also I wouldn't call Lehman a liabillity when it was probably out of Toure or Lehman who were Arsenals most consistent player last season. Ignoring Lehman temper and comparing both Robinson and Lehmans goalkepper abillity, Lehman is by far the better keeper.

The nominees for fifa's goalkeeper of year award have been announced recently, the nominess inlcuded;

Gianluigi Buffon (Juventus), Petr Cech (Chelsea), Dida (Milan), Jens Lehmann (Arsenal), Edwin van der Sar (Man United).

No mention of Robinson and rightly so. Whilst Lehman is one of the best three goalkeepers in the world and Robinson probably isn't in the 5 best goalkeepers in the PL let alone the world.

Like I said, he can make a good save from time to time.

I still feel Robinson is the better keeper though and I'm not going to change my mind.
