1-1 at half-time. Colchester are certainly no pushovers and they look more threatening than Chelsea to be honest. Its virtually a second string Chelsea side with Diarra, SWP, Huth, Glen Johnson, Cudicini all in the squad. I think we have an upset in the cards!

Read your post Yeekiat and tuned in for the second half, twas a great game with great pace. Chelsea the deserved winners in the end but COlchester will go home with their heads held high.

Well after watching some of Chelsea's games recently, I've come to the conclusion that Mourinho's "two players for every position" policy is uttterly useless and clearly not working. Colchester had a lot of chances in the first half. In the end Mourinho had to send in Cole and Lampard to do the job and it took two late goals to beat them.

Yup. Colchester should really feel proud of themselves. Oh my.

`uttterly useless and clearly not working ` you mean to say `the special one ` sometimes gets it wrong , surely not . Colchester did give them a big fright but i had a feeling Chelsea were bound to come through in the end .

Clearly not working? They are racing clear in the Premiership like noone has done for yearts and you say this policy isnt working?? They have done this because when their players are injured or on international duty they have another world class player to step in and take their place.

When you have to juggle League, League Cup, FA Cup, Champs League, International Fixtures amongst your players, this really takes its toll, as the other top teams have found. This factor is less of a nuisance to Chelsea because of this policy they have.

Ah sorry ... didn't make myself very clear there. What I'm saying is, its not working when they want to give a big name player a rest. For example, their initial plan was to rest Lampard and Joe Cole. When they leave out one of the big names, they put themselves in a very vulnerable position. In the end Jose still had to put one the big names out to win the game.

I'm not a Chelsea fan, but everytime I see Robert Huth in the side, I think opponents have a chance of winning. Surely Chelsea fans cringe whenever he's in the lime-up. I didn't manage to watch the second half of Chelsea v Colchester but in the first half, he was giving away a lot of corners. Diarra didn't do too well either. It was also from Glen Johnsons are that the cross came in that lead to the own-goal.

Yes they have a "two player for every position" policy - but most of the time, one player plays it - in the midfield especially. For example look at Makelele and Diarra in the holding mid position. We also talked about how Chelsea have a lot of games in the FA Cup, League, Champs League and League Cup - but the truth is, Lampard, Terry and some of the other more important players are playing all the games. What is the use of the "two player" policy then?

Why is it that Manchester United lose 3-0 to Chelsea at Stamford Bridge and other big teams are defeated comfertebly at the Bridge by Chelsea but when Colchester United and Huddersfield Town visit they almost snatch victory Scunthorpe United also stole an early lead against the blues a few years back
