This is a very complicated problem, because many palyers are shoted by the supporters, and noboy complains. I'm not defending racism, I don't want to say that. You can see some examples:
etoo--> black roberto carlos--> monkey guti-->gay (maricona in spanish) torres--> niñato ( no idea in english, something like spoilt boy) we can't tolerate racism, nor any kind of violence, physical or verbal, because these words can create finish in fights, (I hope not). |

Guti might be very open with his sexuality. Therefore he should be taking this abuse with a smile. Think of it more as, Guti finding partners by his sexuality being publicly announced often. Beckham gets many offers this way too. |

@Raul... I think they should close Zaragoza's field and still think they should have closed the Camp Nou when the Figo incident happened, my colours don't make me blind. Get it? Violence and abuse is intolerable at any field.
About Eto'o spitting incident you said textually "he behaved like a monkey" suggesting that he deserved the abuse on him. Well that is what coach Clemente said exactly in the press round after the match and he was criticised by EVERYONE. Some people don't think before talking. |

Spitting is a huge form of disrespect (I wouldn't even spit in the street), but racism is as low as you can get.

Judging from oranje and Raul discussion, it looks like I have missed a lot of things.
Raul, if the sentence "Please, before offending me and my country" was directed at me, you probably have misunderstood me. I dont blame a whole nation for the acts of some narrow-minded biggots. What I was saying that those biggots are ruining Spain image. And I agree with oranje, when he said that whatever the reasons are, racism shall not be tolerated. I dont have to remind everyone that we are living in the 21 centery. I just wanted to know, why only Eto'o? From some of the replies, I got the answer. Eto'o, unlike the others, gives it a big deal. But I think it is justified. I have read an interview of Eto'o a while ago where he mentionned why he reacts about the racist chants. He said, for him it is fine. But when he thinks about the black kids, who didnt choose to be born in Spain, beeing abused by their friends, because their friends saw on TV black players beeing racially abused and think it is a normal thing; he can not accept it. I am not a big fan of Eto'o comments, but I respect that one. And talking about Aragones, why refering to Henry with "black"? Henry has a name. Would be more appropriate to refer Henry with "the world best striker" ( well, at the time of the comments ). Anyway, I will always be a barcelona fan |

It has nothing to do with being a Barcelona, Real Madrid, Roma, Chelsea, Arsenal or a fan of any other team, we all need to be color blind, I don't care how much you dislike a team or an opposing player, there is no excuse for it. I realize it's been going on forever, and I'm probably kidding myself if I think it will go away, but with that said, I will never ever accept it......

Afrinux, you didn't say anything that offended me, I said that to oranjepalooza because from my point of view, he suggested that spanish people are racist (I don't wanna reopen the debate I am just explaining it). Two of my best friends are black and I'm very proud of it. The idea of calling me racist really annoys me.
Nina, I'm sorry but I didn't say textually what you wrote, although what I said (and I repeat it if neccesary) is that spitting at others won't help Eto'o and will create more enemies for him. And that's what the 90% of the players in La Liga say too. |

Eto'o is probably a prime target from opposing idiots, because Eto'o shows that it hurts him. When Henry recieves racial abuse (e.g. Panathanaikos, CL) he ignores, keeps a smile & answers them with his football and his goals that sends their club down.

Zaragoza was fined €9,000 (US$10,730) Tuesday for racist taunts by supporters at a Spanish league game which forced FC Barcelona forward Samuel Eto'o to try to leave the field.

Eto'o said he isnt happy at all with it and either am I, that sort of fine is hardly going to stop it happening again. They should have been made to play a game behind closed doors

It is a shame that fans are so silly.
Inter abused Zoro of Messina when they themselves have Adriano, a black player! Zaragoza have black players so aswell as being racist to eto'o your doing it to your own players aswell. This really needs to be sorted out otherwise eto'o will leave barca to get away from the abuse. No disrispect but some fans need to grow up its football and if you cant take it that the other side has an unstoppable striker then stay at home and keep your stupid comments and abuse to yourself! |

I disagree. I think it is fair because it would be unfair to close La Romareda for this, after seeing how Barcelona supporters had worse attitudes and they weren't punished. I mean, yeah, this should stop, but if the punish Zaragoza, then punish Barcelona too for throwing pig heads. And if you say this is unfair, then you maybe thinnk Eto'o punishment in the Athletic match was unfair too, no?
And the fact that Zaragoza has three black players, for me proves two things: 1 - They are stupid 2- It could not be racism, simply the first "insult" that came to their mind to try to stop a good striker like Eto'o. Vicente and Pablo Alfaro said this too, and I'm starting to think it has sense. |

The worst fanbase is from Espanyol, they not only insult any black players from the rival teams but also insult their own black players! Unbelivable! The ultras in this team are very nazi, like Real's Ultra Sur. At least Barça's president had the balls to erradicate the radical members of Barça's fanbase and they're banned from the club and from entering the Camp Nou for life. I wonder why the rest of clubs don't do the same, the cowards...

I disagree with you on the stadium thing, i think it should have been closed but the second point you made makes sence.
The fans are just trying to insult Eto'o to stop him from playing well. Zaragoza have black players too, Ewerthon is one of their best players. Its still racism though and isnt acceptable at all. The only way to answer it is with football and Eto'o set up Barcas 2nd goal. I cant blame him for wanting to walk off but hopefully players just get on with it and the fans realise it doesnt effect them and stop |

But Nina, the Boixos Nois of Barcelona are very radical too, and I don't know if you heard it but they created a terrible fight in Zaragoza the other day after & before the match. Zaraoza supporters said that it's not fair that the media talks very much about the incidents with Eto'o and hardly mentioned this.
Racism is another way of vilence in my opinion, so it is no more and no less than other fights |
@Raul... Of course Boixos Nois are no better than Ultra Sur and the rest, that's the faction I was refering to when I said that Barça's president Joan Laporta banned them from the club and the stadium for life. Boixos Nois were the most radical Barça fans who made all the cheering and spectacle, so it was difficult to erradicate them but it has been for the best. I didn't know about the incidents in Zaragoza but of course those people can travel to Zaragoza on their own without the permission of the club. But in Barcelona they have no access into the Camp Nou. Because of that Laporta has been permanenly threaten to death, him and his family. I think he had lots of balls and I admire him for that.
Raul i shall remember u that all Boixos Nois were banned from Nou Camp when Laporta joined the club, so i dont see any sense on your coments.
Respect to chants to Eto'o, u can say whatever u want, if the chants would be to Ronaldo u'd say that he had acted fine, i think this is one of those things that are over ur t-shirt, and dont say its not racism, u know that in the Vicente Calderon a banana was thrown to Kameni, in la romareda kameni also suffered those chants, and Roberto carlos had it in nou camp, riazor and a lot of stadiums, this is a problem of racism, and we have to cut it as soon as possible. And how to justify not to close La Romareda because Nou Camp didnt? so if an assassin is free by a justice fault, lets make them all free! Sry for my english. |
So, now you guess what I would have done if it has been Ronaldo?? No, sorry, you're wrong. I would think the same, as I suffer it in my team with Roberto Carlos (who I remind you, was spitted by Chilavert, while Eto'o was the one who spitted).
And about the Boixos Nois, I clap Laporta's attitude, it was a brave one, but be serious, you know they can go into the stadium over and over hidding their identities. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- I support things like that one in the match of Spain yesterday in Valladolid, with big posters which said "No Racism" and there were no incidents. We were playing against Ivory Coast and we proved that it's not a matter of racism, it's a matter of good players. As you said Ronaldinho, Eto'o, Roberto Carlos, Kameni... always the same people, good players for their teams, such as Webo for Osasuna. All these teams have more black players but they are not humilliated. Why? Because they are good players. (and you may wonder: then, why don't they yell at Ronaldinho, Ronaldo...etc?) Because Eto'o or Roberto Carlos are players that, for any reason, people hate. |
Why do you think you know that? That's not true at all. These guys have police records and are easily identificable, and they would never pay the high prices for a ticket in the Camp Nou, as you may know all ultras get in for free because the sad reality is that their lubs support them! This is common knowledge! Ultra Sur in Madrid are well organized, they have free tickets for all games, they're even paid to do the cheering! |
