West Ham striker Teddy Sheringham could finish his career in Australia.
Sheringham, 39, has been in talks with Queensland Roar, who see him as an ideal target man but are concerned by how much the ex-England man would cost. "Players in England can still command big salaries even in lower divisions," Queensland coach Miron Bleiberg said. Meanwhile, out-of-favour Hammers striker Sergei Rebrov, 31, has ended his troubled spell in England by returning to his old club Dynamo Kiev. Rebrov was not considered part of West Ham's plans after they were promoted to the Premiership. And Sheringham suffered injury problems at the end of the club's Championship season, although he was on the substitutes' bench for the play-off final against Preston last month. Sheringham has been in talks with the Hyundai A-League side for three months. "We are looking for a special player," added Bleiberg. "We are looking for a target man and English players are best known for their ability to play in this role." "But we do not want to break our pay structure in the process as we have a salary cap that we have to stick to. "We can get a South American player for a fraction of the cost and that has to be a major consideration for us." Former Ukraine international Rebrov has signed a three-year contract, according to Dynamo's website. The striker joined Tottenham Hotspur in June 2000 for a club record of £11m but fell out of favour at White Hart Lane and spent time on loan at Turkey's Fenerbahce before signing for West Ham. "I was a free agent and had a number of choices but Dynamo was the only place I really wanted to come to re-start my career," said Rebrov, who remains the club's all-time leading scorer, with 121 goals in 248 games. "I'm glad I came back. My soul belongs here." He is also Dynamo's top scorer in Europe, with 28 goals in 58 matches. |

I think he should try one more year in the Premiership, he had a great season last term and I think he can still do it for West Ham
