Real Madrid president Fernando Martin is launching his bid from today to land Juventus coach Fabio Capello for next season.

Real's Champions League exit last night at Arsenal has convinced Martin to begin negotiations to prise Capello away from Turin - and that begins today.

Juan Roman Lopez Caro will remain in charge until the end of this season, but Martin is adamant that Capello is the man to take the club back to the top of Spain and Europe.

Along with Capello, Martin will also step up talks with former Real coach Vicente del Bosque, who he wants to head the club's youth setup.

The arrivals of Capello and Del Bosque could mean the end of spells at the club for sports director Benito Floro, who only joined in January, and technical director Ramon Martinez.

As far as I'm concerned, Real Madrid should take him and they can have him. He's also linked with the England job, albeit not a favourite and I definitely do not want to see him managing England.
