YOUNG ORLANDO SOCCER PLAYERS INVITED FOR PROFESSIONAL TRIAL IN EUROPE THIS SPRING BREAK
Ajax America sending over a 9-year old Nicolas Zaldano and 10-year old Andrew Brody to get scouted by top professional club in Holland Orlando, FL – (March 7, 2006) – Ajax America Football Club announced 2 young players will be going to Amsterdam this Spring Break attempting to be the youngest American soccer players ever accepted into the Ajax Youth Academy. Nicolas Zaldano, 9, and Andrew Brody, 10, considered two of the best young soccer players ever to come out of Florida, leave Thursday for 2 weeks in Amsterdam, for a professional soccer tryout. “Nicolas and Andrew are outstanding young soccer players and will be the first step to show European clubs how good American players can be,” said Ajax America Technical Director Barry Hulshoff. “The boys will have to work hard, but their heart and mental toughness are better than most at their age.” Hulshoff knows top talent, having played 11 years at Ajax Amsterdam and for the Dutch National Team. He now scouts all of North America for Ajax Amsterdam, trying to find the next superstar. Having 2 young players come out of Central Florida is rare and exciting. Ajax America is also sending over 2 boys from Southern California. Bobby Wood, 13, and Kovi Konoviecki, 13, both play for the Irvine Strikers and are in the US Under 14 National Program. “These 4 boys are some of the best young American players, and will only be the start of Ajax America sending players to Europe,” touted Mark Dillon, President of Ajax America. “We are thrilled to give the boys this opportunity.” The boys will be training at the famous Ajax Youth Academy for 2 weeks. They will be guests at an Ajax First Team game, attend team meetings and meals, and have study time in the Academy’s Study Lab. “The boys will see first hand the commitment needed to be a professional soccer player,” said Hulshoff. “Everyone knows how good these boys are on the field…now we will see their character and heart in a different situation.” While most Central Florida kids are playing and enjoying their time off, Nicolas and Andrew will be working harder than ever, and having fun doing it. “The boys get an opportunity to so something they love, on a stage most people cannot imagine,” replied Dillon. “Ajax America provides the opportunity, now the boys must prove themselves on the field,” Dillon continued. Ajax America, the pioneering leader in professional youth soccer development in the United States, is the first American soccer entity to be affiliated with a professional European soccer club. Ajax America scouts, recruits, and trains top soccer talent around the US. In addition to operating a youth academy in Central Florida, Ajax America has affiliated with some of the best soccer Clubs in the country to seek out the nation’s premier young soccer players.
