They all deserve to be there. They have all earned the right to be there.

well , i am not so sure i agree , West Ham finished 6th in the championship on 73pts , Ipswich on the other hand finished 3rd on 85pts , thats a 12 point gap . Yet because of the play off system it is West Ham who have got lucky .

I don't think they got lucky, they were the in form team at the end of the season, but I see where your coming from.

The problem is however, if you scrap the playoffs, then the league will become boring. Playoffs keep it interesting - every team is playing for something at the end of the season, whether it be a playoff place, and automatic promotion place, or just to avoid relegation.

Its a great point however, and has made me think more about the question originally asked.

yea but a team who finished with 9 points less (sometimes even more) then your side and they get promoted above you through the playoffs isn't good, the playoffs are just another way for the FA to make money.

worst team were Palarse, relying on Johnsons penalties.

yes exactly , a team in 3rd place having played well all season may be 15 pts ahead of the 6th placed club who have just scraped into the play-offs , then get lucky over a couple of matches . As wayno said it is all about money , are the 46 games played during the season not exciting enough then .

Also agree palace were worst team , if you take away johnsons penalties his total for the season is 11 not a very good return for a clubs top striker.

I dont think you should scrap the playoffs. It has been this way for years, why change it? There will always be winners and losers in football. They should all be playing for an automatic promotion place, if they fail to go up via the automatic spots, then they have to go into playoffs. They know the score at the beginning of the season. I am definately in favour of the playoffs and it keeps the season interesting throughout for alot of clubs. 46 games are exciting when there are battles going on for positions in the league. If you took the playoffs out of the equation, then maybe the final 10-15 games for some teams will be pointless as there is nothing to play for. Its for the good of the leauges in my oppinion.

well the play offs are here to stay i suppose so lets get back to the origional question, which team should not be in the premiership . I think West Ham , they will struggle against most of the teams in the Premiership , need a top class striker .
