What are your top five Rafalution moments? |
Alright you Reds, I want to know what are your top five Rafa masterstrokes that brought Liverpool to where they are today. These are mine, and I would definitely love to hear yours. In order of importance:
5) Signing Momo Sissoko 4) A reborn Harry Kewell 3) Signing Xabi Alonso 2) Conversion of Jamie Carragher from fullback to centre-back 1) Keeping Steven Gerrard here at anfield!! |

5.Signing Alonso
4.Gerrard staying (2nd time) 3.Olympiakos game last season at anfield 2.Beating Chelsea 1-0 to get into the CL final 1.Winning the CL |
5. clean sheet (record-breaking)
4. goaless to goalmaster 3. great tactics (5-4-1 form can score 3 goals) 2. arrival of big talents 1. first season with the club n won the CL in very dramatic way(quite impossible to happen again) |

1. winning the Champions League
2. beating Chelsea in the semi final and seeing Mourinhos face (priceless ha ha ha) 3. The transfer of Xabi Alonso 4. the solidity that he has brought into our team 5. the way he is turning Anfield into the fortress it once was again |
yeah...
the long-awaited fortress |

5.) Coming back to beat Fulham last season at Craven Cottage. First time we had come from behind to win a game in 5 years. It was a sign of things to come, and the attitude Rafa had instilled in the players.
4.) Selling Michael Owen, might sound a bit odd. But i think this may have helped Liverpool more than people realise. It stopped our longer standing players being too reliant on one thing (Which started to happen under Houllier) 3.) Beating Chelsea in the Semi, enjoyed every second of Terry crying 2.) Winning the Champions League by way of a miracle (Goes back to point 5) 1.) The most important thing for me is, once again I can watch Liverpool and never give up hope or believing that they can get something out of a game. (better just point out that i am a huge Michael Owen fan, and would loved to have seen him stay, and would love to see him return) |

1.winning the Champions League
2.coming back from 3-0 down 3.winning f.a cup 4.winning european super cup 5.all the signings he's made especially alonso rafa is a definet legend! |
5. Keeping faith in Kewell (for how much longer I dunno, but as an Aussie he's been a long-time favourite of mine)
4. Sensible transfers (there have been a few disappointments, but no houllieresque mega-money flops) 3. Cup wins (gives fans some optimism again, signals to our opponents that we are the real deal) 2. More intelligent and attractive football (after all that's what it's all about, enjoying watching matches) 1. Keeping Stevie G |

Yeah cause in the semi the ball did cross the line didn't it

fair play, can't argue that. Great game from 3-0 down to win. Hats off to you

1. Two cup finals, two 3-3s, two wins on penalties, two of the most exciting games in living memory
2. Stealing Chelski's thunder in 2005 - they win their first league title in 50 years with a record points tally, and no-one cares because we won the Champions League in such dramatic style 3. Playing Neil Mellor against Arsenal and him scoring a glorious volley in the last minute 4. Buying Alonso for just £11m, 5. Last season our percentage of victories was the second highest in the club's history, record for most clean sheets in a row, record for most consecutive games won...and this season we don't have to play our best player out of position... |

I agree with all of these. Great rafalutions. I would have to say bringing back Robbie Fowler was my fave!!! |

1 tactical master stroke in bringing in hamman to shut out kaka in istanbul. and what happens next, no explanation needed
2 keeping dignified silence againt mourinho and letting his tactical genius on the pitch do the talking.... champ league and fa cup semis. 3 bringing back fowler. besides fowler unquestionable talent and passion, his return has strengthen local flavour in the locker room. wenger should learn from the master here. not one regular english in the current starting 11. important to have local talents. 4 ensuring inspirational gerrard stays in Liverpool. 5 signing of alonso and momo. another move that i think will in time be another great rafa moment is the signing of kuyt. |

not sure what order but here we go.....................
5) Masterstroke signing of players such as Momo Sissoko and Xabi Alonso. 4) Keeping Stevie G 3) moving the rock J Carragher into the centre of defence to build the team from a solid defensive 2) Getting rid of players, even his own buys, that dont work. he is not to proud to keep trying with them - he would rather get rid which i respect very much. 1) installing fighting and winning spirit into the team. This has contributed to two great comebacks in two great finals to win two great games. But also fight in the games leading up to this final! |
Yeah... I definitely like the way where Rafa is a bit more ruthless when it comes to players. It keeps the players on their toes in my opinion and people who are not working hard will be shown the door.
Great change from the Houllier days. |
