Preston have completed the loan signing of veteran striker marcus stewart from Bristol City on a months loan.Preston have been forced into the loan market after losing David Nugent and Danny Dichio to injury in the last week.

Ive gotta say it has come as a shock to me too hoopy i didnt expect him.All Billy Davies has said is of his scoring record which on the whole is fairly good. This situatio happend about six years ago when david moyes was in charge and he got Brett Angel on loan we was all shaking our heads but brett proved us wrong and won us the league on his own scored something like 8 goals in 10 games im just hoping that marcus does the same.

I like your positive thinking but I can't see it, his goal scoring record was good a few seasons back but last couple of years he's done next to nothing.

Well he scored 17 for sunderland last season you have gotta think positive aint ya. We canrt just count on the strikers hope that the midfield and the defenders chip in with a few as well

17! I didnt realise that! Seems a bit strange that he dropped down a league then, I actually can't remember him playing against Reading at all last season.
You gotta think though, if he was that good he wouldn't be being left out of the City squad, I also noticed he's only scored 5 goals this season from 18 starts and 11 sub appearances.

A few championship sides were after him but it never materialised so he went to join his home town club it aint worked out for him down there so we are giving him a chance to put himself in the shop window i know we wont be signing him on a permanant basis

WE DID TRY

Preston north end did try and prize a prem player away from thier clubs but they did not want to let them go.

Loan bids for Newcastle's Micheal Chopra Chelsea's Carlton cole and Man Utd's gio rossi all came to a door being slammed in billy davies's face cant fault the ambition of the preston boss and the board

Shame but 2 of those you mentioned are in line for Reading next season. Carlton Cole is apparently almost a done deal and Rossi will be a season long loan, apparently so anyway.

Preston North End have been rocked by the news that defender midfielder Callum Davidson has damaged medial ligaments and will now bw out for 2 months GUTTED

Preston's character is now going to be tested as the injuries keep piling up on key players But i can still see the young players pulling us through

Im not so sure, this is a key time and you dont have enough time to gel the players coming in.

Preston have been rocked with even more bad news Left back matty hill is only rated 50/50 for tonites game against crewe which is a must win as preston can go five points clear of wolves if they win.

oh well that gives young kelvin wilson a chance i guess.

It gets depressing doesnt it when players start to pick up injuries and knock in the latter stages of the season! I hope Preston can get in the premiership would be great for bothe Reading and Preston, two teams which i have been very impressed with in the championship this season.

Preston manager has put to bed all the speculation about a rift with him and Brian Stock as utter nonsense.
he said : Brian is a first class individual with flaws in his game which we are working on.

he went on to say that his relationship with stocky is first class and we should be seeing him soon with the current injurie crisis which has hit our squad

Stocky was man of the match on his debut against millwall played the next game against burnley for 45 mins and since then he has not featured apart from 2 unused sub apperence's

it baffles me
