Park Ji-Sung is reportedly ready to leave PSV Eindhoven and join Manchester United.

The South Korean midfielder had been linked to both United and Chelsea, and he appears to have been sold on a move to Old Trafford.

Park was a fixture in the PSV side which won the Dutch league by a 10-point margin last season and also reached the Champions League semi-finals.

His agent Kim Jeong-il told the Yonhap News Agency: "He has decided to join the English team (United).

"Today we will inform the president of our company, Lee Cheol-ho, who is now in the Netherlands, of Park's intention."

Whether PSV will allow Park to leave, or under what terms, remains unclear.

The 24-year-old has become a major star in Europe since being brought to PSV by Guus Hiddink in 2002, after playing for Hiddink's South Korea at the 2002 World Cup.

He scored in the second leg of the recent Champions League semi-final against AC Milan, but PSV exited on away goals.

PSV press officer Pedro Salazar-Hewitt claimed the Dutch club were still waiting to hear from Park's representatives.

"If they say that it's up to them," said Salazar-Hewitt.

"PSV will not comment until we know things for sure ourselves. And that's not now."
