Wigan make Pollitt approach |
|
Wigan could make Mike Pollitt their first summer signing after the Premiership newcomers confirmed they have made an approach for the Rotherham goalkeeper.
The 33-year-old is rated one of the best shotstoppers outside the Premiership, but was relegated to League One with the Merry Millers last season. The Latics have not yet spoken with Pollitt, who is on holiday, but they are eager to add him to their squad for the coming campaign, their first in the top flight. "He is a player I'm interested in signing and we have made an approach," confirmed manager Paul Jewell on Wigan's official website. "However, at this moment in time we are still at the discussion stage." Pollitt was recently linked to Oldham, managed by former Rotherham manager Ronnie Moore. |
