Inter Coppa Cheer |
|
Inter fans finally have something to cheer about after the Nerazzurri booked their place in the Coppa Italia Final.
Roberto Mancini's side have seen their season fall apart in the past week, with a surprise Champions League exit to Villarreal and then several players having to endure an attack from around 100 Inter supports. But Coppa King Mancio - he won the competition last term and has previously lifted the trophy with Lazio and Fiorentina - has something to smile about once more as he will look to add some more silverware to the Inter trophy cabinet. The San Siro outfit were favourites before the tie, so it was little surprise that they won the first leg. The 1-0 result was achieved thanks to the most splendid backheeled goal by Santiago Solari, and the Argentine winger was on target after just eight minutes of the return leg in Friuli. Julio Cruz helped on Pierre Wome's cross, allowing Solari to sweep the ball home and seemingly book Inter's spot in the Final to face either Palermo or Roma. But the Bianconeri had other ideas, although it took them a while to get back in the game. Christian Obodo managed to get between Marco Materazzi and Nicolas Burdisso to fire home the equaliser. He then missed a golden opportunity to add another before Udinese old boy David Pizarro put the tie beyond doubt. Vincenzo Iaquinta added a consolation from the penalty spot in stoppage time, but it wasn't enough for Giovanni Galeone's side. Could they win the Cup for a second year running? |

I think Roma will win the "coppa Italia" because now it's playing better than Inter.
