Villarreal go for Villa striker Baros |
|
Villarreal are ready to bid for Aston Villa striker Milan Baros.
The Mirror says Baros has a clause in his contract which allows him to leave if another team make a bid of above £18m and, although that figure is unrealistic, Villa may still be persuaded to cash in. Villarreal would be keen to do business quickly following the end of the campaign as they fear Baros's value could skyrocket if he performs well in the World Cup. I think that Baros is not too dissimilar a player than Forlan, so i don't see why they would want to sign him. |

Err ... I don't think he was 'quite' successful under Liverpool. Only one season under Rafa and under Houllier, he really didn't do much.
Sure we won the Champions League with him but the only reason why he's playing is because Michael Owen left on the last day on the transfer window (and we didn't have time to buy another striker) and Cisse broke his leg whereas Morientes was injured for the most part of last season and cup-tied for the Champions League. |

Forlan wasn't a great player in England and Villarreal signed him and he was the striker that scored more goals in Europe.
