    The French Open

The tennis tournament is set to begin on May 23rd and will last until June 6th. It's one of the most important tennis competitions of the year, and it's just before the World Cup! They still haven't displayed the match draws, but next week they should be out there. My favourite is Juan Carlos Ferrero, who's always been an "underdog" at Roland Garros, but hopefully this year he can beat the odds!

    Who's your favourite?

A tough start for Andy Murray up against Frenchman Richard Gasquet!!

Will be surprised if he goes past The 1st Round as he is useless on clay.

Andy Murray did get through to the 2nd Round!

He lost the opening 2 sets and looked like going out
but suddenly found his form and came back to win the last 3!

Today in the 2nd round he plays Juan Ignacio Chelo who is Argentinian.

Britain's Andy Murray staved off a storming comeback from Marcos Baghdatis
of Cyprus to claim his place in the fourth round of the French Open with a 6-2 6-3 0-6 6-2 victory.

He will face 15th-seeded Czech Tomas Berdych next
for a place in the last eight after he beat American 17th seed John Isner 6-2 6-2 6-1.

Hasn't Murray played 3 5-setters so far? He's doing well though having said that, and beating Baghdatis should be a good confidence boost as he's never beaten the Cypriot before.

I've not really payed much attention to how the other top players are doing. It's Nadal v Hewitt tonight though I think?

I've only been paying attention to how Murray has been doing so far Tom.

Your right in that he has had to play three 5 set matches so far and done pretty well.

I'm sure the likes of Federer and Nadal have had quite easy matches so far.

As for the womens side I really don't have a clue whats going on there.

When it gets to The quarter final stage though will post the draw for both the men and women.

    Good old Murray!

Lost in straight sets to Tomas Berdych in the 4th round, 6-4, 7-5, 6-3.

Apparantly he blamed the rain/conditions of the surface for his loss.

Murray has never been much good on clay, he never really had a chance of doing much with the likes of Nadal & Federer around. I havent really been following it much yet but the top two are still going well and will hopefully meet in the final. Beating Nadal in the final is about the only thing Federer still hasnt managed to do in his career
