    R16-Croatia v Portugal-25th June-Kick Off-8pm

Croatia beat Spain 2-1 in their last match to win the group while Portugal thanks to Ronaldo came 3rd in their group.
How will the unhappy Cristiano perform in this clash?

MARIO MANDZUKIC TO SCORE ANYTIME @ 3/1

(Either MANDZUKIC or Kalinic will be starting up front for Croatia. I don't know which one, but either will be the best chance of goalscorer.)

Croatia to win (24/13) is favourable, though a draw could well be a likely result. Play it safe and go for Croatia to qualify (8/9)

Ivan Perisic is 9/2 to score anytime with Paddypower. Either staring striker from MANDZUKIC (3/1) and Kalinic are the best, though one would most likely replace the other late in the game.

    Cristiano Ronaldo for Portugal.

    HT

    Croatia 0-0 Portugal

No shot on target from either side

Hope this isn't going to be another poor game like the 2 others today.

    WORST. TOURNAMENT. EVER.

Thank God the rugby and cricket is still knocking around. At this rate I'll be watching Wimbledon instead of the footie..

    FT

    Croatia 0-1 Portugal
    0-1 Ricardo Quaresma 117'

What an awful match, surely one of the worst in this boring tournament?

    Croatia were just rubbish.

Why did they play so well in the last group game against Spain but fail to turn up in this last 16 tie?

If Portugal beat Poland in quarters and reach semi's it will be a crime against football that a side so bad even with Ronaldo can get so far.

wasn't a classic, of course and I was surprised at Croatia allowing Portugal to have so much possession. perhaps some fatigue from the Spain game but even that is a poor excuse.

Portugal are hilarious though. their final ball is diabolical time and time again. pre game Lee Dixon was urging Ronaldo to play off the shoulder and that is what he did. however what happened was exactly what I pointed out in previous games. he is too isolated and given dreadful service. that's why he came deep so often against Hungary and that is why he was so effective in that game. he needs to be allowed to influence the game but the way they set up ensures precisely the opposite.

as is always the case, I as hoping for penalties when it got to extra time so I was obviously annoyed to see the winner go in. a big win for Portugal though who will fancy themselves to make the final, I'm sure.

Portugal remind me of the brazilian team from 2014... they too got way further in that tournament than they should have gotten based on their performances...
imo Portugal is way too weak for this quatre finals, but somehow managed to get through yet
