    Re: EFL Cup 1st Round-2016/17

    Rams 1-0 Grimsby.

Pearson is still sticking to his favoured 4-4-1-1 formation and the Rams players are still trying to get used to life without wingers, all credit to Grimsby who played decent football throughout and opened up the Rams defence on a number of occasions.

The only goal was scored by skipper Keogh on his 200th Rams appearance, it got a bit hairy in the last 10 minutes with Grimsby peppering the Rams goal but goal-line clearances by Carson and Keogh preserved the Rams winning margin.

My jury is still out on Pearson, his team selection and the way he sets the team up, square pegs in round holes springs to mind.

Massive win for Luton last night knocking Aston Villa out of cup and a very deserved win also.
